Everyone is entitled to their views on what is happening in Palestine/Israel. At a minimum however, you should know and understand what international law requires when there is an armed conflict. Yes... there are RULES for how to fight a war. Many lay people do not know that. A Convention is like a treaty. You can find the conventions on the website for the International Committee of the Red Cross. @bageera@blackmastodon Negligence does not count in the equation of whether civilians are being targeted. You cannot target civilians or the things civilians need to sustain life because someone else attacked civilians. In IHL there aren't really good sides and bad sides. Combattants from all sides of a conflict often commit war crimes. They all should get prosecuted at the end. Whether there was negligence is a political matter to be dealt with in a political way. IHL is not political.
@bageera@blackmastodon Sure, I can't disagree with what you say. But you are looking at a broader picture. I'm just trying to help lay people understand the requirements of IHL.
