If software on the fediverse such as lemmy and kbin are connected similar to emails, how come I cannot use kbin with my lemmy account and have to create a new one for kbin specifically? Is this just a bug, or have I misunderstood how the fediverse works?
Personally, I want nothing to do with them and I’m not willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I moved to the Fediverse to get away from all these corpos.
I have a though dilemma. I got a date for a wisdom teeth surgery but It’s one day before a concert. Could something bad happen if I attend both? I will only drink water on the concert.
One annoying thing I noticed on Lemmy is that is someone mentions a Community and links to it, that link usually just opens up the “home” instance of that community. While I actually wanted to see it on my instance so I can join it an participate. What is the proper way to do it? Or is there some browser plugin that makes...
I’m a moderator of a smaller community. I’m posting quality content multiple times a day, and I posted about it in New Communities. The number of subscribers is low but it’s growing steadily....

She doesn’t sleep well so part of the problem is energy. But the main issue is finding time. My partner and I both work remotely, I have a 08:00-16:30 tech...
I find that Hot and Active give you really old stuff, at least on my instance, that’s like 3-7 days old stuff. New is just new, you know new, no community-assured quality. Top is stuff I’ve already seen. Where do I get a better feed? Can we have like Top 7 hours? Or a mixture of “top 16 hours” and “active”?...
Hey all, I’m new but trying to post regularly. I’ve noticed most posted pictures are viewable through Lemmy but mine are links? Also can we post direct gifts to Lemmy?
For me, I’m nearly 40 and I really love Avatar the last Airbender, reading YA novels, and sometimes I make pasta with fun shapes, just because I can....
I’ve contributed to the project for a few months and used it for over a year and I still don’t know the difference. I think I asked the maintainers once, but I forget the answer.
I recently made a PR for default PFPs. I was thinking of using using a priority of user set pfp > instance default pfp > Lemmy lemming. Is this something people would actually want?...
