andrewta,

In the US I’d have 2 amendments added to the constitution

First is where for a voting precinct the average amount of time for people in that precinct to vote is 35 minutes or less. 8 hour voting times should be unconstitutional.

Second is where all districts, regions, and precinct should be drawn by a mathematical formula. No gerrymandering allowed. It should be simple squares or rectangles. No favoritism in any way shape or form. It shouldn’t consider party affiliation, race, creed or anything. Just simple squares and rectangles.

If there is favoritism in one way it can be screwed with by people to create favoritism another way.

SaintWacko,

Why not just get rid of the electoral college? Switch to a direct democracy? There wouldn’t have been a conservative elected for the last 20ish years of that were the case

The electoral college was a good idea when the tallys of votes had to be hauled to Washington on horseback.

We now have email and websites where information can be sent within seconds.

So there is no point for the electoral college other than tradition and for the control it gives elites, both of which do not benefit the populace and effectively silence their voices.

SaintWacko,

Exactly

rufus,

Bummer. I was going to say Abiogenesis.
