PositiveControl, in Insomnium - Winter's Gate (2016)

Incredibile album, both for the cover and for the music

Headbangerd17,

Yup. Their best since Above The Weeping World.

scytale, in King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King (1969)

One of the most (or maybe the most) iconic abums in prog rock history.

GhostOfElectricity, in Yes - Yesyears

Yes and Roger Dean were a match made in (we have) heaven.

As a complete album, Lateralus is one of my favourite things to listen to. It’s kind of amazing.

luthis,

Definitely, I’m a big fan of albums that just flow as one.

salton, in Tool - Lateralus (2001)

This album for sure has the best art booklet of any CD I’ve ever own.

AcidOctopus, in Linkin Park - Reanimation (2002)

I bought this at an age when I didn’t understand what a remix is. I remember standing in a Virgin store, and my brother trying to explain it to me. I wanted a Linkin Park album because Crawling and Papercut were fire, but there were two albums in the store, and one had this sick robot on it.

Not getting the whole “remix” thing, I of course went for the one with the big cool robot on it. I can’t say I got what I wanted, but rather I got what I didn’t know I needed.

luthis,

Fucking beautiful.

I remember my mate having this and it had ‘remixes’ and he didn’t like it as much.

We listened to it anyway because we were like 14 and music was a tight commodity.

I was blown away by the mix of metal and techno. I wasn’t even a metalhead back then, I didn’t know how to find it. But I had heard the call.

doodgelukkig,
@doodgelukkig@lemmy.world avatar

Yes it is! According to a friend who has experience with DMT Alex Grey visualizes the experience perfectly

luthis,

My friend would like to try it some time, but has no idea where to get it or how to make sure it’s the real deal.

luthis,

Have you seen the booklet? I guess you have.

For anyone else who hasn’t,

The booklet is about 8 clear plastic pages with layers, so as you open each page it shows a lower layer.

It’s really freakin cool.

Fun fact,

The building in the art is Hotel Panoráma, located in Štrbské Pleso, Slovakia

It got renovated and is operating to this day.

When I saw it I was all ‘MUST RESEARCH!!’ and read up about it.

It’s such great architecture, unforgettable
