Do my comrades feel that they have and receive enough support in life?

What could you use?

What resources can you share with others?

@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic i'd like cafes/safe places that operate as ND spec. Headphones for everyone, menu of sounds, music etc. To listen to. Preference for type of interaction on an spp when ordering etc. I could live in a place like that, and it is not so far removed from normality. Someone please get this sorted please :ablobcatbouncefast:

@aspiedan @theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic sensory stuff is definitely the easiest to change or at least easiest to explain to neurotypicals

neurotypicals already hate construction noises and flickering fluorescent lights

@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic since realising I'm autistic I've also realised that no, I don't have enough support. I'd really benefit from practical support like someone to help manage finances, with paperwork and navigating The System, I definitely need practical support with the admin side of self employment.
Unfortunately getting any of that is really, really difficult especially when you appear to be functioning.

@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic my experience...that's about it.

Not much of a 'time donater' usually.

Enough is quite a strong word imo. Still working on it.

Online and offline support groups are very helpful. Also, connecting here on mastodon and shouting into the void, getting the occasional feedback, good or bad helps me find nuances in my thoughts.

I use lemmy quite a bit since I enjoy the long form content/blog/forum style there. Quite a couple autistic groups and individuals there.

@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic Apart from the fact that the world has been fucked up by neurotypical wankers, I can't complain. These people can't help their limitations.

Honestly, I'd be fine in a reasonably just society. That's not a big ask, is it? Y'know, healthcare, fair compensation for work that doesn't send most of the value I create to CEOs and stockholders, just a few little things...

Jokes aside, most of the people I choose to have in my life are pretty good about helping me if I ask. They aren't psychic unfortunately, so I do have to ask.
