I want to get to either rewrite all my old reddit comments or delete them (prefer to rewrite them all to an insulting message to reddit) before all third party apps are effectively removed on 01 July....

Not only the obvious “AITA for leaving my mafia boss husband after he murdered my family” deleted AmITheAngel crossposted posts that everybody knows it’s fake, but also, some viral post that everybody believed to be true and they never called it out or realized it too late after some ridiculous update.

From a technical and legal standpoint, ignoring ethics and dignity, is there anything preventing us from scripting a scraper that recreates reddit posts in a lemmy instance? Like maybe top 50 posts of the top 20 subreddits, without comments. I think it would help convince people to join, since the major argument for sticking...

I always see posts asking for the "best apps", so I thought it might be fun to flip the script. I originally thought this would be mobile-focused, but honestly I do the same thing on desktop....

Now that is a substantial amount of users on here now (from a particular source that looks awfully like Lemmy but is very corporate ewww). What are some tips and tricks for using lemmy or the fediverse in general to help those new users to get accustomed to this platform?

I have finally found an indexer with a lot of German releases, but sadly Germans are so bad in naming things that Sonarr keeps overriding wrong episodes (pokemin for example, wehre the new netflix episodes are counted as pokemon reisen s01e01) Now I thought, maybe I can help / get help from others with German releases etc.

By default most people run Wireguard on port 51822. This of course shows that you are running a VPN. Is it better to run on another port, for example 443? But I heard that some ISPs frown on that....
