While it requires setting up your on site to take money, Steam has always allowed developers to create keys for free. They can sell or give those away for 100% of the revenue indefinitely.
I haven't seen anything yet.. they already got some exclusives not on Spotify, but I believe the artists are deciding what platforms they release on. As an end user, all I have noticed so far are improvements to thier android app (Playlists finally, and bringing back the shuffle all feature).
I just had my first taste of mod power by having to remove spambot comments from this very post… is this some kind of advanced viral marketing for the game?
Well, it worked, I’ve made an Epic Games account just to get a free copy of Elder Scrolls Online. Which I know I will never play seriously, and in the end will probably not even get round to installing just to see what it’s like…
Epic is great for free games. Check back around mid December they give away games every day with AAA games on Christmas and New Year. Stuff like GTA5 and CIV6.
Destiny has been losing players left and right thanks to decisions they’ve made lately, and I can’t help but see this as a desperate attempt to inflate their player numbers. They’ve said in the past that changes take months to roll through, so even if they had realized their mistake last season, they’d still have at least 3 months before they could fix it at this point.
I’m not convinced they are listening to the community, though.
