xilliah, to privacyguides in Chat Control 2.0: EU governments set to approve the end of private messaging and secure encryption

Naive. There must be more practical methods to counter child abuse. For example always holding people accountable when they are known to hurt children would be a good start.

Terrorists will have no problem writing their own encryption program, and more ordinary citizens will install malicious apps from unofficial app stores.

Just imagine the headline we’d see in the west if this was happening in China.

I want cameras and microphones in every politicians house, in every room. These record 24/7 and will be live-streamed on twitch. Any politician against this proposal is obviously a child-abusing terrorist, or do they have something even worse to hide?

This needs more visibility

It looks like there could be a “blocking minority” but I’m just parroting because I have no clue of that is something to celebrate or just a false hope.

Really disappointing to see this coming from the EU, I expected better from them

Miclux, to europe in EU Commissioner as double agent of foreign interference

Wait! Lobbying and corruption in the EU??! That can’t be possible 🙆

GregorGizeh, to europe in EU Commissioner as double agent of foreign interference

With a bit of luck this piece of information helps to finally strike down this bullshit proposal.

As I repeat, journalists are the only target effectively. Everybody else will use illegal alternatives for sensitive communication.

ReversalHatchery, to europe in EU Commissioner as double agent of foreign interference

While it is no good news, it is a little comforting that there is hard evidence that this legislation is backed by money and dirty corporate interests in unlimited mandatory mass surveillance, instead of it actually being evaluated as a solution.

However the article is almost a month old. Did anything happen regarding this? Is Ylva Johansson still in it’s place, and if so, why? They should be in prison, not in any place where they would do harm to the EU.

HaiZhung,

I did not realize this is a month old. I certainly did not know about this, but I figure this piece of information probably can’t be overstated for now :-)

ReversalHatchery,

I didn’t mean it as a scolding or anything like that, sorry.
Was just asking in case someone knows more
