@jerry either PuTTY or ssh, depending on if I also have need of bash and whatnot. (I love how Microsoft made Linux on the desktop practical)

if your dog is prone to running in her sleep, this is a very dangerous situation in the bed. Waking up to the feeling of being jackrabbit kicked by a sleeping 80 pound dog is… not ideal.
