Very true, which is why it’s important not to give easy fuel for pedantry like this gun stat does. It undermines the entire point if the numbers aren’t at least close to the real statistics.
That’s still a crazy stat. That’s something like 830k people in the US being shot every day. Almost the whole population getting shot in a year. They must’ve misplaced a few decimals doing the math
Is there any backstory? For all we know the car owner just did something horrible and the truck owner has blocked their escape until the authorities arrive.
This question was inspired by my hatred of Temporal Anti-Aliasing which, in many games nowadays, is poorly used as a performance bandaid. On lower resolutions it will smudge and blur the image and certain bad cases of TAA will cause visible ghosting....
So many small businesses have a Facebook page and no website which is quite frustrating too. I just want to see your hours, why did I need to sign up to another website to do that?
We had a vote but it was essentially deliberately ruined from the get go. Instead of yes or no, it was permanent summer time, permanent winter time, or keep daylight savings so the people wanting permanent time split their vote and lost.
I’d be really curious how much my internet use “costs” to advertisers and if I could/would pay that amount instead.
Like, the advertiser paid $0.0005 to serve that ad to me so I’ll just pay that amount directly to the site and not be served the ad. Just incorporate it into my internet bill and I’d pay just like I do for power or gas. And would my willingness to not see ads make me more or less valuable to advertisers and affect the math?
I don’t like the subscription model as it seems like the price point isn’t based on actual cost at all and like they’re double-dipping by still selling my info. Charge me the actual cost plus a reasonable profit margin of 10%-20%. How much would that be? Is advertising really so valuable that I wouldn’t be willing to pay that amount? If so, are advertisers overselling the efficacy of their product?
So the roof line meets the wall above this? My first suspect would be the step flashings along that wall (assuming a shingled roof). Often what seems like a small or minor detail in the way these flashings are done can mean they work great, or water gets in over time.
This whole thing is so beautiful! The mutual respect is especially refreshing when everything seems so adversarial these days. The emphasis that we’re all treaty people has reframed my perspective and is such a great lesson to instill on these young athletes and their community.
I got 11/20 and there were a couple of guesses in there that I got right and wrong. Funny how there are some man-made ones that seem like AI. I think it’s the blurry/fuzziness maybe?
