I like this You can see where I meant to travel to Denmark this year. I can't wait for the third installment of the HMRC series () and to continue my re-discovery of @bookstodon

I had a catastrophic coffee accident, so about half of a large one ended up on my sweater—which I was wearing for the first time! It’s 100% merino, mostly white with splashes of pastelly-neon 😭

Does anyone have tricks and recs to get the stain (latte with sugar) out without ruining the hand-dye job? #Knitting #Washing #Stains

Oops, I’m behind… these are the i read in July. Lots of weird ones. The Battle Drum was fantastic… can’t wait for the third book!

Untamed Shore was wonderful, because Silvia Moreno-Garcia is an amazing storyteller.

The Poet X had me SOBBING.

@kristianeleigh @bookstodon good to know that Moreno-Garcia. I've read Mexican Gothic and Gods of Jade and Shadow, and I always felt like something's been missing. Could you say how this one compares? I'd love to try again.

OK, . With pay day next week, I can put in an order for some new books. Some I've decided on, but I want your recommendation for a recent (published within the last 10 years) fiction book. Have got plenty of 'speculative' fiction on my shelf, so am after something set in the real world.
Send me your recommendation and why it's good. Most convincing recommendation gets bought at lunchtime today.

@j_bertolotti @academicchatter i wonder if this is specific to English. 🤔 I haven't experienced this in my other languages (Spanish, French, and german).

My Book backlog is getting empty. Only 6 to go and 3 of them are trivia. I would love to have more readings in:

  • business
  • engineering
  • agile work
  • psychology
  • open source
  • science fiction

For further reference. I am a fan of Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Gene Kim, Marianne Belotti, Teresa Torres, Jim Kwik and Sergej Lukuanenko.

Please feel free to recommend titles, authors, courses and other material.

Thank you, a lot, in advance.

You Can Trust Me is a suspense novel that was just released today. I enjoyed it for the strong female characters and their friendship. I kept turning pages to find out what happened next.

Anyone have other suggestions for thrillers with strong female mcs?
