@kristianeleigh@bookstodon good to know that Moreno-Garcia. I've read Mexican Gothic and Gods of Jade and Shadow, and I always felt like something's been missing. Could you say how this one compares? I'd love to try again.
@themostroom@bookstodon Untamed Shore is completely different from both of those! It’s very noir-esque.
The thing about SMG is that she takes her time and tells a story. Her books are all paced slowly - she takes ample time setting the scene and showing us who the characters are.
I know that I have to be in the right mood to read her books - if I’m not into it, I’ll set it aside and read something that gets up and moving more quickly.
