I got a Huawei Honor 8 from when Doctor Strange marketing was promoting it. I think it came with a comic book. I still have the phone that I keep around for kids. I even replaced the battery once and it is a very solid phone. Sadly, it doesn’t get updates and without warning was not longer supported by Google Fi.
I’d get another Huawei device after it has been thoroughly vetted by people that are more capable and motivated than myself.

How about throwing it into a faraday cage? Like the bags used for those transponders for tolls, or wrap it in foil… Or just mute the phone and ignore it.
I see it as an effort to establish a mission statement and that they are only interested in conversations that further that mission. I don’t see a problem and I also agree with you that there is no community for you there, but I don’t see how maturity plays a part.
