Ehhh we’ve been down that road before with thin clients. Anyone who has had to do their job on thin clients will tell you the experience never compares to running it locally
Most software works with wine anymore, including the adobe suite. Be warned there is probably going to be some tinkering to get it working perfectly, but nothing a bit of searching can’t solve.
Definitely has felt like a more welcoming community. Each comment on Reddit I made I had to mentally brace for the inevitable bot and troll replies. Constant fights.
Here I haven’t seen much of it. Some people honestly trying to understand my points of view! Very refreshing
I mean, I wish celebrities were jumping on other options rather than “ooo shiny new facebook”, they’re the only ones I would personally follow, but other than that if you want to follow me choose a platform that federates
no of course not, it’s obvious, I was just surprised they already said the quiet part out loud, right now they seem to be all “buddy buddy” like we’re all stupid
Yeah, but has threads made an official statement like this yet on defederation rules? I’m an instance owner so I’m pretty sure I’d just reply back “lol”
Know what algorithm I want? Order by date created, descending. That’s all I need. I’m okay if there is also a ranking by activity to show what’s active.
I do not need social media to do anything else, no priority, no ranked users, no suggested posts. I want the raw feed, sorted by date created descending.
Airbnb quickly changed in the US from “hey rent out your house when you’re out of town for some spare cash” to “hey landlords here’s a way to gain more share of property and rent out those pesky properties in the short term”.
There are whole businesses built now for Airbnb just to take up properties and rent them on Airbnb at the highest rates possible. Then since they are looking for profit they pass the cleaning onto you.
Always trust capitalism and greedy people to ruin a good thing
I mean I wouldn’t call it sneaky, it’s not like a conspiracy or anything. Most states pay for road maintenance and projects from gas taxes. Since EVs don’t use gas but still use roads they should pay their share too, so it makes sense it’d come from the registration. It’s still way less than paying for gas or taxes on gas.
I’m in the EV market right now, looking for a good commuter car, and Tesla went from my #1 spot to one of the last options. It’s amazing how well he tanked that whole business. Luckily there’s a ton of competition cheaters now
I my experience you then send a different error code to help developers know that right away. Really if there is nothing the developer could do it should be a 500 server error. The server did in fact error.
If the developer should have done something different then translate it to an appropriate code, 400 bad request or something
