Thanks for posting this! It’s super timely as I’m a long-time Nova Launcher Pro user but been experimenting with the Niagara Pro unlock. I think I like it, but I’m not sure I like it enough to spend $30 on it.

Anyone here buying a pair? They look similar to my Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds2 Pro, which don’t fit my ears right. I really want Samsung to put out something shaped like the Air Pods Pro, personally.

Any recommendations for using it as a PC stats monitor? That could be an interesting one for mounting near the PC!

I think the displays may be too small for use as a photo frame or e-reader though (love the Kobo for this).

I wonder how much of this is due to associating the older generations with Samsung devices and the total dominance of Samsung branding across South Korea.

Samsung branding is on everything in South Korea, not just electronics. It’s a massive part of their economy (18.3% of the entire country’s GDP in 2021). They’re in virtually every industry there.

People sticking with audio jack phones, why is USB-C earphones not a solution?

Don’t get me wrong. Apple removing audio jack was the biggest facepalm in smartphone history. And you can thank it for not being able to make an upgrade without sacrificing audio jack (and SD card too :/). But USB-C is getting standardized everywhere now (laptops, smartphones, etc.). Some trolling but there are always people who will jump at any opportunity to “take over” a community and it’s almost always for the wrong reasons.

They’re usually the last people you’d want moderating. The best mods are ones who are putting the effort in to build up the kind of communities they want to subscribe to. It can be a significant time investment and a matter of responsibility rather than power. Folks who leap at these opportunities are looking for the latter.

This is very true. Although I’m also seeing some of these same folks seeking mod roles and advocating for centralizing on this side as well.

40 years ago today Terry Fox, a 21 year old Canadian who lost a leg to cancer, began an east to west cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for cancer research. He ran the equivalent of a full marathon every day and made it to 145 days and 5,373km before he was forced to stop and he lost his battle with cancer.

As an aside, it reminds me of when I thought my Galaxy Note 2 had a massive display at 5.5 inches. Fast forward to 2023 and I’m kind of wishing my S23 Ultra were a bit larger despite measuring 6.8 inches diagonally.

Yeah the Dualsense controller is significantly better than the other options around. Besides the lack of dual trackpads, it’s a lot better than my Steam Deck.

I personally disagree. I haven’t posted about it anywhere but the changes were enough to stop me from bothering with season 1, which I was previously looking forward to. I was looking forward to fun not more of a grind. I’m glad for folks who are still having fun though.
