The Android KitKat (KK) platform was first released ~10 years ago and since then, we’ve introduced many innovative improvements and features for Android, which are unavailable on KK. As of July 2023, the active device count on KK is below 1% as more and more users update to the latest Android versions. Therefore, we are no...
Thanks for posting this! It’s super timely as I’m a long-time Nova Launcher Pro user but been experimenting with the Niagara Pro unlock. I think I like it, but I’m not sure I like it enough to spend $30 on it.
Anyone here buying a pair? They look similar to my Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds2 Pro, which don’t fit my ears right. I really want Samsung to put out something shaped like the Air Pods Pro, personally.
Welcome! Will keep this up since there are already some great responses below, but for the future I’d just flag rule 2 and that we ask questions be posted to !askandroid. Thanks!
I wonder how much of this is due to associating the older generations with Samsung devices and the total dominance of Samsung branding across South Korea.
Samsung branding is on everything in South Korea, not just electronics. It’s a massive part of their economy (18.3% of the entire country’s GDP in 2021). They’re in virtually every industry there.
I hate Google photos because I feel it’s too invasive with that cloud backup that you never really know if a photo is online or on device, so I disabled it in my Google Pixel....
Leaving this one up but just a reminder about rule 2 and we ask that questions of this kind be submitted to !askandroid. Thanks!
Also a reminder for others to subscribe there, so we can ensure a dedicated space for those seeking help while maintaining the essence of what made /r/Android enjoyable for everyone :)
Don’t get me wrong. Apple removing audio jack was the biggest facepalm in smartphone history. And you can thank it for not being able to make an upgrade without sacrificing audio jack (and SD card too :/). But USB-C is getting standardized everywhere now (laptops, smartphones, etc.). What makes USB-C earphones not worth the...
Hello, everybody, I’ve been thinking to move on from my Spotify subscription to move to Tidal or Deezer. I want to try out HIFI audio, but still get a good and stable experience. Are there any suggestions for which one I should pick? Could you also tell about your experience with those apps, or are there any other you would...

Weird, are you using at app? It seems to be working fine from lemdro.id and lemmy.world from the web on my end. Link also follows through. Could you share a screenshot by chance?
In other cases, we had great mods step down with others opting to stick around so we can pin a link to the new home in the Fediverse (e.g., /r/android pointing to !android).
They’re usually the last people you’d want moderating. The best mods are ones who are putting the effort in to build up the kind of communities they want to subscribe to. It can be a significant time investment and a matter of responsibility rather than power. Folks who leap at these opportunities are looking for the latter.
40 years ago today Terry Fox, a 21 year old Canadian who lost a leg to cancer, began an east to west cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for cancer research. He ran the equivalent of a full marathon every day and made it to 145 days and 5,373km before he was forced to stop and he lost his battle with cancer.
As an aside, it reminds me of when I thought my Galaxy Note 2 had a massive display at 5.5 inches. Fast forward to 2023 and I’m kind of wishing my S23 Ultra were a bit larger despite measuring 6.8 inches diagonally.
One way is to use it and be active across the Fediverse. People might take interest in you and check out your instance. Are you opening a general purpose instance or something more specialized?
Yeah the Dualsense controller is significantly better than the other options around. Besides the lack of dual trackpads, it’s a lot better than my Steam Deck.
I personally disagree. I haven’t posted about it anywhere but the changes were enough to stop me from bothering with season 1, which I was previously looking forward to. I was looking forward to fun not more of a grind. I’m glad for folks who are still having fun though.
