To your point: another woman, Judy Estrin, writing about similar concerns: https://time.com/6302761/ai-risks-autonomy/

Her statement, "Eliminating humanity is not the only way to wipe out our humanity." is in harmony with Dr. Li.

We get so much guidance on how to identify student burnout.
Do admins get that same amount of guidance to identify burnout?

It's easy to id faculty burnout - if you identify as faculty - you're probably burnt out. And I tend to be an optimist! Culture is representative of the collective #mentalhealth of the organization. Smart orgs use PD resources for Personal development - ie - addressing compassion fatigue or Secondary traumatic stress.

I thought @StillIRise1963 summed it up best - salty language and all!

Yes!! Grit drove me crazy! That idea came from folks who, as adults, didn't have half the "grit" that many underrepresented first graders have!

More on growth mindset interventions, and why targeting teachers may be just as, if not even more, important as working with students.

Thanks for your efforts to make the world a better place through research Jeff! A teacher I am coaching just told me that they hide their mistakes! Among interventions, I shared this post with them.

Lends itself to thinking about the connection to confidence. Smith did research on student confidence in terms of opening up higher level courses, my focus has been on what an educator's confidence enables them to do (or not). How much finger pointing in a district - ie: "They're not a team player" "They don't help" and such comes from the space that they want to help - but afraid they'll do it wrong, or they'll get in someone's way.
