It's easy to id faculty burnout - if you identify as faculty - you're probably burnt out. And I tend to be an optimist! Culture is representative of the collective #mentalhealth of the organization. Smart orgs use PD resources for Personal development - ie - addressing compassion fatigue or Secondary traumatic stress.
@ienvision@beatnikprof@academicchatter At a meeting with our provost today one faculty said in exasperation "we're all just exhausted" from constant change and loss of support staff. She expressed no concern.
Your administrators congratulate you on your resilience? We just get asked for "grace" with all the things they keep doing wrong because they won't involve us in decisions.
