If you get Bitwarden pro (really cheap), you can save an OTP link together with the site credentials, it’s really good for keeping everything in one place

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

yeah, while I understand that, it’s not every time I have both my phone and computer together at the same time

using a standalone OTP on either one of them would make the opposite a pain in the ass to use

I take a lot of precautions with my main vault password, even got a biometric reader so I don’t have to type the password that much

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

that would be extremely time consuming, imagine traveling around the world with every major transport frozen

and imagine the time It would take to actually find everyone who needs a pocket granade

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

I’m all for It while it’s fun, if everyone is original, then no one is original

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

I mean, sure, the dictionary definition says “created directly and personally by a particular artist; not a copy or imitation”, and I agree with that, but hear me out, I like these philosophical rabbit holes.

The definition says “not a copy or imitation”, so we are presupposing that those things exist, so something original is the antithesis of a copy or imitation.

Now imagine if absolutely everything is original, wouldn’t the word lose its meaning? Isn’t something original the opposite of a copy? If no copies exist wouldn’t it be the opposite of nothing? Or even itself?

Original things wouldn’t be original, they would just be.

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

that was… the whole point… overthinking the meaning of something

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

why would you do something so barbaric as paying yt premium?

not sarcasm joke, really curious

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

I’m not trying to criticize anyone here for their choices, I’m just curious about the actual effects of such a subscription.

As of now the most basic one is 14usd/month, how much of that money gets to the creators that you Want to support? As of the writing of this response I don’t know this information nor searched about It. Do we have an actual diagram or any information saying how much are you contributing for each channel you are subscribed to?

Suppose you are subscribed to 28 channels and the sub money gets distributed evenly, that’s 50 cents a Month to everyone, not much “paying their due” in my opinion.

Now if you really really want to patronize one, two or three channels, wouldn’t sending money directly to them or paying their exclusive membership be a more reasonable way to go about It?

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

Fair point! See my answer on the other user’s message where I talk about targeted patronization instead of overall subscription, I’d love to hear your opinion about it

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

I understand your view, it’s indeed a lesser hassle to just pay the subscription and be done with It.

I can be wrong about It, but judging by how big corpos operate things most of that sub money probably will end up in the company account, not the creators (again, I can be wrong about this).

Wouldn’t you say that using an adblock and supporting creators directly (hot take here since you could want to support 50 people), be a more reasonable and better approach?

Ads are fine, but while the company is being obnoxiously intrusive and predatory towards Its customers, it’s hard to just pay to not be inconvenienced.

I saw both in like 5 seconds, the letters aren’t that far apart that you’d need to have a problem to see the word

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

Of course It is, the incompetent and ignorant people that try to hinder it’s use is the problem

Kyle Hill has a nice video about power plants waste disposal, one of cleanest methods there is.

edit: he actually went to the plant and showed how it’s done

where the Empire Earth gang at?

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

how would you be appreciative of an inanimate object?

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

and why expressing It verbally would be a weird thing, everyone does things a little bit differently don’t you agree?

The car is parked tho, you could spray the oil around the glass a bit, so they use the wiper first thing

now if they start driving with the windscreen in that state it’s gonna be their fault

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

it’s a process that sadly won’t be stopping anytime soon

after home appliances it’s time for our bodies

Always wondered why Atlanta is pronounced “Atlana”

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

He typed It poorly, but I think his point was: Try to kill 30 children in a school with a knife.

If the person wants to kill, they will kill, but a gun (a big gun even) will make this task, orders of magnitude easier.

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

The point isn’t If it’s bad or not, of course it’s all bad.

But If I had to notify 30 families of their deceased parents over 1 family, the choice is obvious.

You are right the guns won’t shoot anyone by themselves, but they’re very much an easy access to whoever wants to mass kill people.

Trying to solve people’s heads is a long term effort, and taking away guns is a short term bandaid. The thing is people are dying Now, you need to save people now, while simultaneously trying to solve the root problem.

If you’re thinking only talking to people Now, will help anyone, we’re in for many more kill streaks

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

You make it sound that changing peoples minds are a super easy task compared to removing guns.

I for one am saying that both things should be done at the same time.

Lets end this here, you’re trying to poke flaws in the person you’re discussing with, instead of being civil and analyzing the problem, I pray that neither of us pay no stab tax, jesus.

hswolf,
@hswolf@lemmy.world avatar

yeah, for this idea to work you’d have to put a magnetic rod between the bread and the cat, and put the whole package inside a copper coil
