I’ve used samsung for all of my smartphones until my latest (when I switched to oneplus), but it’s still an android phone. No way would I switch to ultra-locked-down apple.
I assume the water here is doing the work. I didn’t say anything about a closed system, just passive. Maybe that doesn’t count as passive, I don’t know physics all that well.
Republicans being worse doesn’t mean democrats are good. They all worship at the neoliberal altar of trickle down, even if they make minor tweaks here and there and call it [other]nomics. The infrastructure bill had some much-needed infrastructure spending, but doesn’t change anything about our trickle down economic system.
Progressive ally? Biden was literally the candidate that the establishment put their full force behind (including having Obama make calls to have other candidates drop to back him) in order to defeat Bernie in 2020. Biden himself said “nothing would fundamentally change”. A couple bones thrown here or there doesn’t change that. I don’t know if democrats are astroturfing here of all places or people are just deluding themselves into thinking he’s doing more than he actually is, but he’s really not.
I assume they put in a distance to claim that they’re not violating the constitution but that they “just don’t want anyone to get in the way of very important police work”. Of course, all they have to do is walk up to you to put you in violation of this law.
Consumers have long been warned they were going to be pushed to the “point of pain” in order to curtail their spending. It seems like we’ve finally reached it.
I’ve been an Aldi shopper for maybe 6 years and I remember being able to fill my cart for $60-70. Post-covid, I’m paying double that. They’re still comparatively cheaper for a number of things, but the price increases have hit everything, unfortunately.
I don’t see anything wrong with it. You made that account and built it up. I don’t have a reddit account, but if I did, I assume I’d somehow get scammed during the selling process and not get any money.

Article says it was because of supply constraints for Apple in 2022 that are now lessened in 2023. It’s also a lopsided comparison when Apple shipments are in the ~5 million range while the top PC brand shipments are 10+ million each. Regardless, I will say that PC hardware has been suffering from certain hardware companies keeping hardware prices way too high for too long, which would at least partially explain the supply glut (and thus the reduction in shipments as they have excess inventory).
Although I’m not a fan of Apple, I can see the value that is provided with the price tag, especially when PC brands aren’t offering a similar premium experience but want to charge similarly high prices.
This idea that we have to be “productive” with our time is perhaps the biggest source of human suffering, not just for ones who feel guilty for not being productive, but also the overly ambitious psychos who force their “greatness” on everyone else (just think of tyrants who want to rule over others to make a name for themselves).
I remember articles in the early 00s about how China wouldn’t allow Google to operate there and a big deal was made about “the great firewall of China” and how it was all about censorship, but now that China has an influential internet service, US congress is demanding they hand over ownership of US operations to a US company.
I think it’s because it’s irrelevant for someone who would be interested in leather (and this YSK). I’m sure they’re well aware of where leather comes from. I will say, though, that if cows are getting murdered for food, then they might as well use the whole animal instead of letting it go to waste.

YSK: The term "Genuine Leather", it is not to reassure you that their product is made of leather, rather its the name of the lowest grade of leather a company can use.
Why YSK: The term "Genuine Leather" is a marketing term to sell the lowest quality leather possible....
