But what is web 4.0?

erickolb,
@erickolb@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry I do not know what technology will power Web 3.0, but I do know Web 4.0 will run on sticks and stones.

NOT THE SUSPICIOUS MALWARES!

erickolb,
@erickolb@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry If the malware is only "suspicious," wouldn't that be "susware"?

This whole business of infosec.exchange not having exclusively infosec content has me so upset that I will be posting more cat and orchid pictures to make myself feel better

erickolb,
@erickolb@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry Don't get down about it, because people who have this limited transactional approach to social media aren't contributors. They're takers, and they expect us to perform useful feats of information security for their benefit all the time and shame on us if we should have a personality that includes anything else.

well that was fun. The surge is over. Here come the people saying "wait, there are non-infosec comments?!?! I was told this was infosec.exchange!"

Back to our regularly scheduled day.

erickolb,

@jerry "This is unacceptable! I'm going right back to Xitter, where the infosec people have only ever talked about infosec!"

What is your favorite ssh client for Windows?

erickolb,
@erickolb@infosec.exchange avatar

@jerry In older versions of Windows, I'd use PuTTY. In recent years? Windows Subsystem for Linux is a must. Then you can just use the default OpenSSH client in your distro of choice.

It’s perhaps a bit disappointing that Google decided not to reach out to me/the mod team as they posted this: https://blog.google/threat-analysis-group/active-north-korean-campaign-targeting-security-researchers/

The account is suspended now.

@jerry Well, Maddie - one of the co-authors - appears to also have a profile on this server too, if you wanted to tag her and have a chat about it.

@jerry @Lee_Holmes @briankrebs If nothing else, this is an opportunity to build a new bridge. Perhaps they're so accustomed to Twitter/X being faceless and non-responsive that they simply did not consider it might be otherwise here.
