I need a source for boxes of bootstraps to hand out to the R’s that keep begging me for money. I assume they lost their bootstraps and the money isn’t trickling down like it’s supposed to, hence why they have to ask me for 💰
Last nights super bizarre dream: I had a super annoying and clingy pet octopus that kept hugging me, which I found really unsettling, but it was my pet and I had apparently agreed to love it like any other pet.
I was very happy when I woke up from that one. And no, the octopus did not require water - it was apparently a PNW tree octopus
Apparently unlike the leader of another social media network, I have never turned off satellites to thwart the military operations of one of my country’s allies in their attempt to defend themselves against an aggressor.
So far, I am pretty impressed by the simplicity of fastly.
I am contemplating a major refactoring that is focused on performance. I believe I will consolidate down from the 13 servers today to 4 larger servers colocated on a 10gbps network, and moving back to a local minio storage provider.
The 16 core DB server is regularly saturating, so will likely go with one of the 64 core sapphire rapids servers for that and redis, and another for puma.
Fastly seems like a much better solution than setting up a bunch of nginx reverse proxies around the world, and so far it seems to be working really well.
@jerry thx for that rundown. you'd think I should know some of this after running security at bing for 2 yrs lol but that was all upstream and never came into play while I was there 🤷
I wish I could offer an “exit survey” for people who decide to move from infosec.exchange. Would love to know why and if there was anything we could have done better…
