Thank you so much! People tend to associate knitting with positive ideas like "warmth" "hugs" comfort" and protection" I wanted the viewer to associate those ideas with the people I draw.

Sure, took me a minute to find this specific piece. I also show pieces that are just the knitting no drawing but those are bigger allowing me to get more detail.

Hey, I could see that but...I like the way this looks so see no benefit in going through the trouble embroidering. Also conceptually I like the balance of digital (digital drawing) with traditional (knitting)

Thank you so much! I does look a bit like pastel, but I do the drawing digitally.

New portrait drawing. This was a fun angle to draw.

Thank you so much! Obvs patience and practice but also studying the Timelapse’s that procreate records of me drawing. That really helped me a lot.

Don’t know if they are or not but remember they can’t offer threads in all of Europe so if they were automatically signing accounts up they couldn’t include European accounts

Socks are my vanilla knitting go to. I collect Sock Yarn and have learned how to knit it without looking. It's my "I don't know what I want to knit" or "I need a palette cleanser" project.

How I get out of creative block with my art is I do side work. So that might work for knitting/crochet. Without any expectation, organize your yarn stash, build out or organize your patterns. Research yarn, or comment on knitting/crochet posts on social media. When I do the visual art equivalent of these things I find that inspiration hits and I can't wait to get creating again! Bonus: when inspo hits your systems will be organized and ready for you to get going.

Thank you! Not at all happy to share info. All my work starts with original drawings in procreate. I turn a layer of the drawing into a knitting pattern and then knit it (in this case using 2 colors of yarn but most of my art uses 6colors) I used to do it by hand combining stranded, intarsia, and backwards knitting techniques. When I started animated I knew I needed the knitting to be faster and the stitches even more uniform cuz I wanted the crosshatch drawing still there. I started animating with a 1950’s knitting machine. This piece was made with a hacked 1980’s knitting machine. I had to rewire it and use special software to get it to talk to contemporary computers. I need to make a video about how I make 6 color tapestries with it because it took lots of time effort and crying and cursing to get it to work hahaha. But the machine and I are best friends now it made this piece possible to complete in a little over 1 month. The knit fabric is 30 feet long and will be on exhibit next month beside a VR gallery I made in Spatial.io that features the animation. Please feel free to ask more questions I’m happy to answer them☺️

Thank you! Yes it’s 30 feet of knit fabric. I’m actually exhibiting the knit film strip beside a display of a VR environment I made in spatial.io that has the animation. The piece took me a little over a month to complete. I’m happy to answer any questions ☺️
