There is some evidence presented in David Graeber’s last book that Natives of Northeast America already knew all this wisdom after learning the hard way from the collapse of the earlier empires on the Mississippi hundreds of years before white people arrived. Then when we showed up, they went oh no, not this bullshit again.
The EFF article doesn’t mention or even imply any nefarious conspiracy. The bigger dangers it warns of are the usual suspects: sloppiness, carelessness, laziness, and deference to bad actors

I’m sure it’s good and she seems legit, but I fucking hate videos. A blog post I could scan and read so much faster, as well as judge its legitimacy in seconds instead of having to invest minutes of my life.
The problem is not Obamacare (and why the racist mispelling?), it’s greedy employers playing the loopholes in it to cheat you out of getting the medical care you deserve. And lobbying against universal health care, which would be much better (and save them a ton of money) becauae it would take away their power over the employees who are full time.
I had to fight Comcast via a half hour arguing war of attrition on the phone with someone whose accent was impenetrable, but got internet only for $50/mo using a modem I bought on ebay for $30 and a router that cost $10.
It’s worse than that. If we degrowthed and decarbonized fast enough to stop global warming, billons of people will die. If we continue to do nothing or weak sauce half measures to stop global warming, billions of people will die.
This just as of 10 minutes ago from the writing of this post begun happening. I noticed the icon on my homepage changed, and that’s when the lag began happening. It fully freezes my phone for 10-20 seconds....
