I am not an expert, but I think it might be worth studying the French resistance in Paris at the end of WW2.
You could also look up the Chilean resistance in the 80s. In both cases, you may find traumatic descriptions of the terrible things that happened to the captured Resistance members, so be warned.
Good question. I didn’t know about decltype. I guess they are slightly different in that decltype will also produce a type reference. Typeof just produces the type, even if you call on a reference.
That’s valid. In theory, because you’re downloading open source on there, you could audit the apps you download, but don’t know anyone who does that unless it’s their job.

Yes, it’s nice and worth learning, especially if you try at both highly abstracted code and performance sensitive projects. Don’t get stuck thinking in c# though. Its brand of strict oop seems to be getting less popular these days.
I understand how to code… To an extent. I know syntax and can solve problems given a set of tools (such as source code, functions, etc). I’ve made mods and basic programs (literally and figuratively), but I’ve never messed with internet stuff other than networking and mostly on the hardware side....
I’d consider it a large project, especially when you factor in the maintenance for site changes. But I don’t know how difficult it would be for you. You can browse the source code of apps like jerboa or liftoff on GitHub and see if that looks manageable to you.
