The mods of world delete comments against their opinions even if it’s just sourced facts without any opinions. It’s also very tiresome how so many people tend to comment “enshitification, capitalism bad, the person of the article is a fascist, they should unionize ” or some doomer or far left take on any topics. Even when talking about videogames
Should blocking a user still allow them to vote on your posts? I'd rather have nothing to do with particular users, and it seems that they continue to show up in the activity for every single post I make around kbin.
I would prefer if blocking hides or removes any kind of interaction between us. One issue I have noticed is that when you block someone you can’t see any replies which unfortunately hides comments from others
I would hope that a similar mod that gives options to disable certain types of romances would have been better suited. So long as it doesn’t single out the types of romances he dislikes.
A French company (SilMach) backed by Timex Group is claiming to have opened a new chapter in watchmaking with the creation of a silicon motor that matches the accuracy of quartz-based movements with the elegance of a mechanical watch’s sweeping hands.
Japanese scientist Kikunae Ikeda first proposed umami as a basic taste — in addition to sweet, sour, salty and bitter — in the early 1900s. About eight decades later, the scientific community officially agreed with him....
I think his point is that the person he responded to is proposing well meaning feeling based policies without having any real knowledge of any of the negative impacts his policy would have.
Nvidia is pretty cut throat so the chances of them doing something wrong are high, but i'm not sure about the chances of finding evidence. they must have effective policies to defeat investigations, most big companies have them.
I think that the most disappointing aspect of obama's presidency was that he did not do anything about china imposing those bullshit rules. he should have imposed some balance or outright make it illegal for those companies to put themselves in a situation where their ip's will be sucked dry.
I think the article should focus on how everyone or most people at work do keep up with the times. At least when I learned my teachers understood this issue and focused on providing a good theoretical foundation on which you can build on, the particular technologies are just examples of what's available at the time when you are being educated, it's not the actual focus of the education.
The “cord cutting” trend cable execs spent a decade claiming was a fad just broke another round of new records. well considering that christopher mellon went on the record to assert that there is very compelling high resolution satelite images of UAPs I take this as a step in the right direction since they are no longer denying or treating it as a joke. NASA already asserted that there are "metallic spehres" flying all over the world when they shared footage of one.
I will never switch to something that only treats phones as "primary device" and adds extra hassle to support PC as a "secondary device". I also find very concerning the lack of understanding of the value of anonimity even when communications are private, they even mock people that want privacy and anonimity.
another non-deal breaking but still telling issue is the lack of a clear roadmap for signal.
I am not looking for anything specific since i am not planning to use it, the issues I pointed are deal breakers as I said.
Regarding the roadmap,I only expect them to share it. They have talked about their vision and desire to be self sustainable. It would show they have a clear plan even if it involves testing features.
that can be gamed like most a/b experiments. just keep measuring and adjust your metrics and time window until you get the results you want. doesn't matter if 99% of the time you would have reached the opposite conclusion.

It would show that the current safety protocols are inadequate and unless they are improved any future and ongoing research on gain of function or anything close to bioweapons is putting mankind at risk. It’s important to keep a historical perspective and remember how many doctors died treating ebola even though they used ppe.

If you want android you'd normally go with a phone that is supported by the main contributors /maintainers. doesn't even have to be made by google. but I think that was already pretty clear so you might just be a contrarian. please correct me if you actually had a point.
you might be right but some numbers might back up your claim. I doubt that servers could heat water as much as a nuclear reactor. datacenter coolers certainly don't have to pressurize the water to prevent it from boiling, it doesn't get that hot.

I don't even think we should care about the decline. the important thing is fitness for the role. if he started out smarter than needed he should have been allowed to conitnue as long as his mental capacity is above a treshold.
whatever system is used to measure capacity can and should be used periodically. you can even test them more frequently if they are near another treshold in capacity
No. I am only speaking in the most vague and general sense. I did not draft a proposal that handles any of the issues you mentioned. I certainly agree that it's not as simple as I described it but at the same time there is a large space of solutions that will make sense to some people (and not others) testing elected officials for mental capacity doesn't mean the testing needs to depend on election cycles. why should it?
He discussing another right-to-repair story and how apple’s genius bars are scamming people - Laptop owner baffled over two very different repair quotes www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdr5RKi75NI
I think they could have made it less clickbaity and more ojbective if they focused on the fact that the repair guy offers a better service since he will try to repair the components instead of just swapping them for new ones. in this case the official tech service wanted to replace all the components that showed damage. that's not unreasonable. again they should have focused on the good parts of the third party service instead of trying to frame the official support as a scam.
I'm not on his side. but selective application of the law is still abusive. just looking at the veracity of the evidence to assess fairness is disingenuous.
