XaeroDegreaz,

They are locations that you automatically block once you set up your Lemmy account. They are subs used to test that your Lemmy feed, and blocking mechanism, is working in your client.

XaeroDegreaz,

I instantly thought of the Postal 2(possibly NSFW) cat when I saw this.

The creator of Pixelfed announced an upcoming encrypted messenger for the fediverse that will work across the fediverse (mastodon.social)

It will be open source, end to end encrypted using Signal’s double ratchet encryption protocol, and he plans to make it easy for fediverse platforms to integrate it. The beta will release later this month....

XaeroDegreaz, (edited )

Hm… If they’re not being stored on the cloud, that means offline users would never receive messages, unless Signal is purely P2P. I haven’t looked at the project, or the source, but I find it hard to believe – you can’t really do user lookups without some sort of middleware in the cloud.

XaeroDegreaz,

Shit, I knew reddit won when I looked up the porn forums on Lemmy, and the subs measured in the low hundreds lol!

XaeroDegreaz,

Maybe I’m missing the understanding of this forum but why are there three rooks per side on the board?

I don’t know chess notation, but the knight in the right should move northwest. Put pressure on that third rook

XaeroDegreaz,

I didn’t know it was a different type of chess, so don’t use my move 😞. I just saw it on the front page so I chimed in. Good luck!

XaeroDegreaz,

The way I taught myself to remember is “starboard” has more "R"s in it, so that means “right”.

XaeroDegreaz,

API is not versioned. Also REST API should not use verbs in their endpoint. POST is already the HTTP verb – /submit is superfluous.

XaeroDegreaz,

There’s 130 people that live in that town. No one there really gives a flying

Why do developers keep adding virtual cursors to console games?

It just feels lazy to me, like the developer couldn’t be bothered adjusting the UI for consoles so they copied the PC interface and bound the mouse cursor to a stick. Some games do both at the same time, having menues navigable both with buttons and a cursor, but usually that makes all menus unreliable and unprecise as hell.

XaeroDegreaz,

The first game I ever saw it used in was Destiny. After that, since it didn’t seem that people complained, other companies followerd suit.

Also, funnily enough, the first Destiny game was a console-only release.

XaeroDegreaz,

Sounds like he needs a better IDE.

XaeroDegreaz,

Yeah, then you just have to worry about missing whitespace, instead lol

You can't uninstall this software without being forced to participate in their survey (lemmy.world)

I initially only installed “Comodo Firewall” but for some reason they also installed a “Comodo Dragon Browser”, which I did not consent to. I always choose the “advanced” installation to uncheck bloatware, but in this case there was none and when you try to uninstall the browser, they force you to participate in...
