Being able to see exact number of players playing could be an interesting metric Blizz might not be wanting to share when it comes to WoW, wondering if we’ll ever see it on Steam.
Going back to your beginnings in PC gaming: the first game you played and loved, but the frame rate and resolution weren’t ideal. Your first “I need/want to upgrade my specs” basically.
I mentioned in another post that Unreal Tournament 2004 was one of them for me.
Later on down the road, after I built my first gaming pc using an XFX 8800gts with a whopping 640mb vram - I tried to max out XCOM when it came out. Next thing I heard was a pop, then I smelled the smoke that was billowing out of my GPU. It was time to upgrade again!
My major struggle with Lemmy right now is that it is near impossible to post a video/gif/mp4 without having another account on a hosting provider. Reddit handled this very well, and I am concerned that if there isn’t an easy solution on Lemmy, it won’t work for many people as an alternative to Reddit....
Huffman has said, "We are not in the business of giving that [Reddit's content] away for free." That stance makes sense. But it also ignores the reality that all of Reddit's content has been given to it for free by its millions of users. Further, it leaves aside the fact that the content has been orchestrated by its thousands of...
It’s so funny. I have bounced between Boost and Sync for years. I really love them both. I think I tend to gravitate to boost for more graphical or visual subs, and I like Sync for commenting or reading more text focused content. I have paid for pro lifetime on both. I miss them, and am excited that Sync is trying to make the jump.
Has the Boost dev(Ruben?) Officially said the app is shutting down? Ppl keep saying it, but I haven’t seen an official post or announcement. Reddit keeps saying “we are still working with some devs”…
I keep thinking this would have been a much better sell to devs and to users. I have always used Sync, and Boost. I tried the official app a few times, but really only used it for the chat feature. I didn’t want to pay for it, but (I am embarrassed to admit it) I would pay premium to keep my app. I think this would have worked...
I have really been diving deep into a lot of niche hobbies and Redd** had such a great community for them. I have no problem starting over for the sake of justice, but it is going to take a long time to build them up.

What was your first videogame that made you say "Ok, I need to play this game properly: I need to upgrade my specs"?

for the Reddit refugees, do you also feel a bit heartbroken?
For me it feels like breaking up with someone after many years. At the same time, I feel a bit dirty mentioning the name in the post title.
