JohnDClay,

Are there recording devices allowed inside the court room? It’d be interesting to hear the whole examination.

JohnDClay,

Hong Kong is relatively the same ethnicity as China, right? And they were using Xi the Pooh memes? I don’t think it’s racist.

JohnDClay,

This thread is like half hexbears. I envy all y’all other instances that have thankfully defederated from those nuts.

JohnDClay,

My parents were told by the doctor that having it was hard to clean, (even as a baby) so came with increased risk of infection. I don’t blame them. I do think the doctor could have been more clear about how large the risk was, and what the downsides to having it done would be. But I obviously don’t have first had experience about the situation, so it could have been different.

JohnDClay, (edited )

Except gnembon. Apparently he’s been cranking out redstone improvements we’ve been waiting decades for! Autocrafter is truly amazing, and the bulb is no slouch either.

JohnDClay,

If we had functional unions or government with the increased productivity we could get the same work done in much less time and get to go home sooner.

JohnDClay,

What makes the cost too high?

JohnDClay,

I don’t have a lot of time to dig through someone’s history, so if you could link directly, that would be great. But thanks.

I do agree that lowering useless governmental barriers to rail would be good for rail, but I also think increased funding would be good.

JohnDClay,

Tolkien kinda has something like that in story with the shire being fairly disconnected from the outside world. It still allows for some exposition, but also fits much better into the themes and flow of the story.

JohnDClay,

.ml is federated with hexbear, so I’d suggest blocking them. I find them pretty infuriating.

JohnDClay,

I wonder what’s the volumetric energy density, historically that has been a bigger issue than gravimetric energy density.

JohnDClay, (edited )

Hmm, if that’s correct, that’s even higher than liquid hydrogen, which would be really impressive.

Energy densities

Edit: Looks like their gravimetric energy density is 3.5kWh/kg

Edit 2: here’s a comparison for batteries

Battery Cell Energy Density

JohnDClay,

It’s illegal to misrepresent what you are using your clients funds for, as was proved in court.

Edit: wait, I think that was SBF rather than SVB. Why are these acronyms so similar :(

JohnDClay,

You need a t slot extrusion nuts too! And there are several variations.

SpiceMerchant, to warhammer40k
JohnDClay,

That’s amazing! The detail in the wood and face is stunning.

JohnDClay,

They don’t do well with words and fonts.

JohnDClay,

The original music vid is funny how sincere it is.

I liked the memes too

JohnDClay,

Or share the context, I love to hear stories about how other people’s campaign is going.

JohnDClay,

Yeah if you’re up for it. Do we have a rpg storytelling community or something? If not, here is great

JohnDClay,

That seems like a bad idea? I don’t know what antagonizing the US would help with in the current conflict. I’d think they want US support/compassion for Palistine to be higher not lower, and attacking is a sure way to plumit it.

JohnDClay,

Russia is kinda busy right now.

JohnDClay,

The scabberrind? I listed to it, so I have no idea how to spell it.

JohnDClay,

Not nearly as bad as targeted ads and pop-ups. Seems like humanity has been finding ways to make ads worse and worse over time.

  • JohnDClay,

I think drawn porn of kids also shouldn’t exist, but it’s definitely different.

    JohnDClay,

This has nothing to do with legality or restricting freedoms. It’s about the admins building a forum to the form they’d like to see.

Plus the harm principle is really fuzzy. What level of interaction is the cutoff for harm vs inadvertent impact?

I also think drawn kiddie porn hurts the people who view it inadvertently. I don’t know if there have been studies on a causation link between viewed cp content and sexual preferences towards minors, or causal relationship between that and abuse/grooming. But that’s another possible harm connection.

    JohnDClay,

That’s why I said there’d need to studies on a causation link for this specifically. I know video games have had those studies done and found that there isn’t a link. So you’d want a similar study for this. But there’s still the accidently stumbling across it issue too.

    JohnDClay,

That would involve remelting the filament and re-extruding, which can be bad for strength. Maybe you could print the functional print at the same time and use it as the purge tower?

    JohnDClay,

If you have different parts of the same layer, you could jump back and forth to the infill to purge. But you’d need to make sure you have enough inside volume compared to the outside surface area.

    JohnDClay,

What is level 1 defined as?

    JohnDClay,

Democracy index has it listed as a flawed democracy at 7.85. The cutoff for a hybrid regime is 6.

    …m.wikipedia.org/…/The_Economist_Democracy_Index

    JohnDClay,

Please explain. Seems to me like democracy is people having a roughly equal say in what the government does. (If it’s a representative democracy, then though electing officials who will do so)

    JohnDClay,

I don’t work in the government, so it isn’t.

    JohnDClay,

No my day to day life is literally governed by the government.

What would you call a democracy? Who should be citizens of a company? Right now, publicly owned companies do reflect the desires of their ‘citizens,’ the shareholders. Does that count as democratic for you?

    JohnDClay,

So that means all the employees are citizens of the company? Only current employees? What about contractors? An equal say, or proportional to their experience or skill? And does every decision need to be made in that manner?

    JohnDClay,

Is there anywhere we can watch or listen to this? That sounds amazing.

    JohnDClay,

It’s legal to put it in the terms, but it doesn’t mean anything since it isn’t enforceable. It’s to scare people away from filling.

    JohnDClay,

Trump’s still on trial. I’m sure he’ll go to jail for something or other.

    JohnDClay,

If you want to skip the validation cycle, we can have it done in 18, but we’ll have a high chance of blowing up.

    JohnDClay,

Homeschooling is so common in the US because the education system sucks. It’s literally a ‘fine, I’ll do it myself’

    JohnDClay,

That’s what co-ops are for. We had one day a week where various parents would teach on their specialty, like theatre, biology, writing, music, etc.

    JohnDClay,

I haven’t met many in my homeschool group. Maybe those ones don’t join the groups?

    JohnDClay,

That’s why my parents did it.

    JohnDClay,

In my experience it isn’t. I guess till either of us find studies we’re at an impass.

    Edit:

In addition, parents of homeschooled students were asked to identify the single most important reason to homeschool their child in 2019. The most common was a concern about school environment, such as safety, drugs, or negative peer pressure (25 percent). Fifteen percent of homeschooled students had parents who reported that the most important reason was a dissatisfaction with the academic instruction at other schools. Thirteen percent had parents who reported that the most important reason was a desire to provide religious instruction.

    nces.ed.gov/programs/coe/…/homeschooled-children#….

    JohnDClay,

Found it after writing the comment originally.

Do you count safety drugs and negative peer pressure as religious? I was counting that and academic rigor as the schools being bad. And religious reasons I was counting as religious.

    JohnDClay,

Sure. But that doesn’t change that people homeschool because the schools are bad. I absolutely agree that schools should be better.
