Jayb151, to lotrmemes in Toss me

While I agree with the spirit of your argument, a 5 or 6 year old is not going to be able to enter a classroom without making a disturbance. And students entering late make it more difficult for the teacher.

Also, if this is an issue so much that the school has to put our a statement, it’s probably not just a one time thing, it’s probably the continued abuse of the existing system to the detriment of those following said system.

Jayb151, to linux in Change my Mind! - I like the linux, but some things keeps me staying on Windows.

I’ve been running endeavour on a little tablet PC with kde. It’s been pretty great overall, but I’ve also gotten interested in Manjaro. Thoughts on how they compare? I read one article that was like, whatever you like better!

Jayb151, to reddit in How many people actually dropped Reddit for Lemmy?

I’ve only gone back to Reddit when Google lead me there. Otherwise, I’m here.

Jayb151, to asklemmy in What are some (realistic) things you wanted to get for a while, just for fun?

I felt the same, so I built one for around 5-600usd. If you have a bike, you can turn it into an e bike.

Jayb151, to firefox in YouTube stopped working on Firefox with uBlock for me.

Does it have a function to import your current subscriptions?

Jayb151, to canada in Jordan Peterson learns that freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences

I mean, just voting for Trump doesn’t objectively make you a bad person… That’s the definition of being subjective. Also, I’m confident in my intelligence, please don’t make lemmy the dumpster fire that is Reddit.

I’m not saying that Trump is a good person, again this is a discussion of Peterson, but one could argue that aside from Trump’s character he wasn’t the worst president the US has had.

Jayb151, to canada in Jordan Peterson learns that freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences

It’s a wild statement to insinuate that your family voting for Trump somehow makes them bad people. Likewise, Peterson has some decent advice that I think should not fully be written off due to his personal life.

I haven’t really seen anyone in this thread disqualify his argument based on merits and only using their own feelings to say he’s wrong.

In all honesty, I don’t have a horse in this race, but I don’t think Peterson is a terrible as everyone seems to think. Maybe I’m crazy

Jayb151, to asklemmy in Can you drive a manual transmission?

36 & US Midwest based, have only bought stick shifts my whole life. My wife also had only ever driven stick.

Jayb151, to lotrmemes in Boromir was misunderstood

He only desired the strength to defend his people.

Shame

Jayb151, to firefox in Switching from Chrome to Firefox? Here Are Some Tips.

Ya, profiles is what’s going to stop me from switching. I have like 7 different profiles

Jayb151, to selfhost in [Question] What are your computers named?

Desktop. Tablet. Garage. Pretty straightforward at my place lol

Jayb151, to greentext in Ikea

That’s what I was thinking too. Like, where can I get a nice, sturdy couch for under $800 USD?

Jayb151, to linux in I switched from Windows 10 to Linux. Its great!

Hmm… That’s a good answer, thanks for taking the time! I currently have about 130gb free on my boot drive, and I keep all my data on a separate 4tb drive. Dual booting on the same nvme could possibly be an issue though.

Thanks much!

Jayb151, to linux in I switched from Windows 10 to Linux. Its great!

Hey, you know the keyboard shortcut for endeavor that does the same thing as the Win+X for Windows? That’s always how I shut down our restart my windows PC. I installed endeavor on my Lenovo duet 3 that came preinstalled with win 11 and that is one of the few things I’m missing. Snip with shift+win+s, and the clipboard history would be the others.

I’m debating if I want to dual boot endeavor on my main PC, but I’m not sure about it because my nvme is pretty small. I also networked my kids computer and my garage computer for file shares and I’m not quite sure how well using those windows PCs to get files off a Linux system would work. Thoughts?

Jayb151, to mensliberation in A male contraceptive approved in the next 5 years would have a $1 billion market by 2024. So, where are they?

I mean, you’re not considering people who would want to have children later.
