Charliebeans,

Kbin is also using ActivityPub, cannot all of that be followed from here?

Charliebeans,

I think this was pretty well communicated, props to dev team!

Charliebeans,

I dont really care that it does not change that much each year, I still always adore this!

Charliebeans,

Is there anywhere else to buy this? Barnes and nobles do not list my country when trying to purchase… I tried with different country, but transaction fails…

Charliebeans,

This worked just fine, thanks! Will read it next weekend!

Charliebeans,

I avoid kindle as much as i can 😃

Charliebeans,

I started listening not too ago, sad to see this go… I really wanted to re-listen podcasts about self hosting, but does not seem an option anymore… But all the best luck for him!

Charliebeans,

Love seeing stories like this!

Charliebeans,

Thanks for sharing but probably you should make it as read only or request to edit!

Charliebeans,

Libraries nowadays are like oases in the desert. They now host a lot of what makes communities great! We need to save and foster as much as possible. It was striking to think “could libraries be created from scratch in today’s world” and I’m not very confident that answer would be a yes…

Charliebeans,

Thanks for this link, updated link in post!

Charliebeans,

Thanks for sharing! While this is great resource for software, I still would like to see something similar but for physical devices like phones, TVs, cars, toasters and anything IoT.

Charliebeans,

Yeah, seems like site is having some issues, I’ve updated link in OP.

Charliebeans,

Looks great, thanks for sharing! Added to the list

Charliebeans,

Awesome! Almost missed this, instant buy!

Charliebeans,

Looks haunting, perfect for spooky season!

Charliebeans,

We heard this one too many times. This now became “I believe it once I see it” thing.

Collapsible Systems Wiki (wiki.collapsible.systems)

The goal of this project is to gather strategies, skills, disciplines, technologies, ideas, designs and critical thought in an effort to help prepare communities big and small for a time of great upheaval, an era of collapses (plural). It is not a submission to ‘The Collapse’ and nor does it seek to romanticise an end times....

Charliebeans,

Surprisingly cute logo 😁 While idea is pretty cool, in what situation this wiki is better than just dumping whole wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/…/Wikipedia:Database_download into USB or some hard drive? If collapse happens, then internet is probably one of the first things that will going down.

Charliebeans,

Fair points. Maybe I just don’t see fully the vision of this wiki yet. Maybe just more time is needed. Sometimes my home internet stability already feels like in a middle of apocalypse 😁 Maybe I should learn more about this infrastructure.

Charliebeans,

My hot take is that every road with 2+ lanes need to give one of that lane to bikes and alternative transport methods.

Charliebeans,

I really supports this and see quite often talked about on internet and that makes me hopeful. But at the same time I feel like this is just a bubble that I’m at and 95% of people don’t even think about this.

Charliebeans,

Started reading without really looking at the scrollbar size 😀 27k words is almost a short book. Read half of this, really love it so far, will try to finish later. Just not too sure if Medium is best place to post such long essays, though I really appreciate it!

Charliebeans,

Why this is post being so down voted?

Charliebeans,

I think dotnet is moving in a very good direction! We skipped updating to .NET7, will jump straight to .NET8.

Charliebeans,

Cool the hear someone using pinebook, how is your experience with it so far?

Charliebeans,

Pirated game must be launched to verify that it actually works and this remove 90% of mental burden that makes so many games in Steam library to rot

Charliebeans,

I still remember how creepy found this game when played as a child, never finished though… Maybe I should come back to this game

Charliebeans,

Most responsible purchase ever

Alternative to Windows' Clock app with finer focus session controls

I want an app that reminds me to take a 2 minute break every 30 minutes to rest my eyes. The native clock app doesn’t let me choose how many breaks I want to have between my focus session. I am not interested in the features of focus sessions themselves like muting notifications and calls since I don’t get any, nor do i want...

Charliebeans,

I personally really like Stretchly, until check was not aware that it’s open source, but it is and it’s great! github.com/hovancik/stretchly

Charliebeans,

I hope it’s only me, but site design is horrific…

Charliebeans,

Not expected C# to be this high. Also did not expected F# be so far away from C#.

Charliebeans,

Didn’t understood a thing, but seems cool

Charliebeans,

What RSS reader do you use?

Charliebeans,

Could elaborate more about the payments?

Charliebeans,

Is it still actively developed? Seems like last commit was last year.

Charliebeans,

Weirdly not many responses are talking about real workspace that much. While written docs are king, video has its own place. Recordings of technical meetings are very valuable and if spoken in english, tools like sharepoint are transcribing them, so you can search them via text. Most often those meetings material will never be written, so video is best second choice.

Charliebeans,

Back in this January I decided to start writing morning pages and decided to use fountain pen. Also thought to spend a little bit much more on a nice fountain pen. While at the time I thought I was rushing to just buying things, this purchase was really great! I still write with it every single day, morning pages and daily notes.

Charliebeans,

Even if it’s end of era, that doesn’t mean it’s bad. How many end of eras has GW2 went through already? It’s a 11 years old game

Charliebeans,

Firefox is not immune to this. I get this popup in FF as well, I also use pi-hole DNS and ublock origin.

Charliebeans,

Seems like it’s controlled test in different countries and segments. I (Europe) get this popup in Firefox, I also use pi-hole DNS and ublock origin.

Charliebeans,

It does not. It can only block domains. Youtube ads use same domain as actual videos.

Charliebeans,

Really sound advice, we need people not be afraid to contribute.

Charliebeans,

For me personally even 2012 maps do not look very outdated. But maybe it’s just not really important to me. But really good if this helps to attract new players!
