Most of us in Lemmy know the importance of privacy and owning your devices in a big tech owned world (me included) but for once I thought to make the opposite question and ask if there are products by them that you actually use and enjoy them....
I just unsubscribed too, probably until that feed update that’s getting worked on. I figure they’ll still be in all if I want them but I wasn’t seeing anything else in my subscribed feed.
Is this how most people type on mobile these days, drawing lines all over a keyboard instead of tapping the individual keys? I've never had an iPhone so I don't even know if they can do this natively, but I know you can switch keyboards at least, so it should still be an option if not.
The neat part is they really can’t fuck it up. You can always run your own instance and defederate from a corporation causing problems. Eventually we’ll be getting the feature to block entire instances too so you won’t have to rely on your admin making that choice either.
I think that’s why, when twitter first got shitty and everyone said to go to Mastodon, not that many people (relatively) did. Because, no one knew how to explain it in a way for non techy people to understand or want to deal with.
I also think it’s much easier to explain now, tell them to go to join-lemmy.org and pick a server. “which one?” Doesn’t matter, click one, read the sidebar, If you agree with what they said then sign up, if not pick another one. (Or just tell them to pick the one you signed up for already) That’s your lemmy site now and you can see all the content from the all the other lemmy sites from yours unless it’s blocked.
I bought some dimming stickers as well. Before, I felt like if I turned down the lights to watch a movie, I was staring into an array of LED indicator lights on all of my devices.
What's a big tech product that you actually find useful?

Why is asklemmy dominating my news feed?
I think for the past 3 days my entire feed is 90% asklemmy posts. Not that I dislike asklemmy, just is a lot of this one community.
