@RubyJones@smutstodon Ooooh, OK! I can't see where the book sales come from but I haven't done much promotion here since I felt I had to build a presence here first.
It's possible there were book sales but nobody told me 😅
Twitter engagement is shit but I feel like people are still more inclined to click on a link to Patreon or my website or a book because they know me.
I can't back any of this up, though. Book sales are a black box.
Today in The Struggle Of Existing As A Vagina Museum In The Digital World: Google have flagged a learning resource as "sexually explicit". As a small charity, we use Google Drive for many tasks, including hosting resources, as it's an affordable solution.
@vagina_museum Leave Google. There are several European options that won't report you to authorities for sending a photo of your sick child to the doctor (yes, this happened).
@protonmail (Swiss) and @ViOffice (German) are two options I can think of right now but there are many more.
The best part was pointing out this excellent phallic display to passing English tourists, who were shocked in that awkward English way, and took a picture to end our interaction. I was like, you’re about to miss the best part of Pompeii!
Some time ago, I read a story about a GM running a pre-written #TTRPG adventure. This GM decided to tweak the adventure as written, by gender swapping every NPC. His (exclusively male) players found it odd that they only met one man. As the game went on, they became increasingly paranoid that the women were doing something to the men.
@RPBook@ttrpg One of my friends ran a TTRPG where he would let the dice decide the gender of each NPC. The players apparently complained that there were too many women in their military setting when he had a streak of female characters 🙄
With Google’s #WebEnvironmentIntegrity, the threat to the open web is greater as it could be used to encourage #Microsoft and #Apple to cooperate with Google to restrict competition in the browser and the operating system space.
This should be prevented from moving forward.
On nom de plume's Mastodon account, I unfolllowed all but the instance admin and also unfollowed groups and hashtags. I brought what I liked over here. Gonna give it a day or so to see what else shows up in the feed and do the same (unfollow there, follow here).
It's the Day of Hermes aka Mercurius Day aka #Wednesday! 🐏
Terracotta pyxis showing the Judgement of Paris. Paris is seated on a rock with #Hermes approaching him from the left. The goddesses Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena are depicted on the opposite side not shown here.

This week's #MythologyMonday theme is healing. The God of Healing is #Apollon but there are other gods who share in a subset of his power. Apollon's son #Asklepios famously brought dead people back to life. Deified after his untimely death by Zeus' thunderbolt, he received a cult of his own, the Temples of Asklepios serving as hospitals. Asklepios had children of his own, among them Panacea (Cure-all), and Hygieia (Health).
But he is not the only healing god associated with Apollon.
