Journalists: Only those with advanced degrees in computer science should even attempt to navigate Mastodon, the frustrations of its complexities will drive the average user to a state of hysteria.
@lowqualityfacts Unfortunately, a Twitter friend repeated that last part back to me after trying Mastodon. It is a little more complex than your average walled garden but I had to learn how to use Twitter and Tumblr too. Just playing around a little will do the trick.
@TarkabarkaHolgy Oooh, it's one of my favourite myths! Dionysos stranded on an island is hitching a ride with pirates but when they tie him up, he makes vines grow all over the boat and wild animals appear so the pirates jump into the sea where they are transformed into dolphins!
Feedback is extremely welcome. This is a loving document, it can only be honed and get better with loving input from other users. What are your best tips for #creators?
@nautilebleu I only joined Twitter in 2018 but it still was incredibly valuable to me. It had become much less so even before Musk bought it, never showing me what my fellow erotica writers were doing and I got a lot less engagement on my tweets.
@ApisNecros There are some books by author, i.e. the works of Pindar or Anakreon but they're not just myths. There are some collections of Ovid's myths, which are Roman but the best well-known for various reasons. There are some translations of the Iliad and the Odyssey, the latter most recently by Emily Wilson. There are the ancient plays like the Oresteia, which you can find online in various translations.
