Today is both the autumn eqinox and time for this:
https://www.skogsmaran.se/
Those passing my window on the finishing 200m are still running (at 12.15)
The less fit will come walking later …
We have had some serious rain this morning, to the extent that even the magpies sat under roof on the patio, so those passing are not only tired but also very wet.

Me? I stay inside preparing meatloaf …

That was one idle and restful Friday…
I’ve slept at least 12 hours all together since yesterday, read a bit, did an old crossword and simply enjoyed. Tonight I just might see that . First night it’s actually clear…

Seems most of the rain decided to come yesterday. There was only a tiny shower this morning….

Tomorrow morning it’s 7 days until the autumnal equinox and I got a photo report from the paint shop. My sofa is now dissembled. I really wish I had an indoor workshop-so envious…
The bench for the hallway is finally finished and stained, remains transparent spray lacquer, but I had to take it indoors last night. Even the wood glue refused to dry. That’s how humid it’s been. Better today, but sure a few showers-and COLD🥶

My bench for the hallway is finally in place. Just have to wait for the lacquer to dry completely before the birdseed can move into it instead of filling the stairs.
It’s been a long journey interrupted by
I’m finishing off the hallway makeover by antique treatment of too new and shiny brass hooks for the wall - lighting the grill

@Mr_n_wood hopefully it will not rain rest of today … and I’ll manage to mowe rest of the lawn and get rid of the remaining half of the branches.
It’s VERY wet outside after a night of massive rain, but at least temperatures are acceptable - some +16°C. Coming week is not looking any better …

#PPOD: Pictured, behind this darker cloud, is a pileus iridescent cloud, a group of water droplets that have a uniformly similar size and so together diffract different colors of sunlight by different amounts. T Also captured were unusual cloud ripples above the pileus cloud. The formation of a rare pileus cloud capping a common cumulus cloud is an indication that the lower cloud is expanding upward and might well develop into a storm. Credit: Jiaqi Sun

Tropics Update

The NHC has downgraded AL95 (aka 95L) to a 20% chance of formation within 7 days.

The NHC had previously mentioned that upper level winds wouldn't be sufficient for formation.

Today:
"While this system has not become significantly better organized since yesterday, some slow development remains possible during the next couple of days while it moves westward across the tropical Atlantic and into the eastern Caribbean Sea"

A chart showing that only one model out of many show this system reaching Category 1 strength. Two models show Tropical Storm strength. At least 5 are showing it never makes it to Tropical Storm strength.
A model track guidance showing location based estimates. Most of the models show a southern trend towards Central America. While only 2 other models show a continuance into the Carribean Sea.

After taking a look at archived radar data from yesterdays storms near Chicago, I don't think anyone realizes how close Midway airport was from being directly impacted. I've (frustratingly) driven in and out of there so many times, that's REALLY close.

op thank you for this post. I have a draft of text I'd like to type it's ok. Its related to the topic of Mastodon, not necessarily a reply to the post itself.

Anyway, I'm still trying to learn Mastodon. I do like that we get 500 characters (1000 on techhub.social).

I'm kind of learning I think, that, in order to run a "search", you kind of have to make a post with the search word with a hashtag. So, if I wanted to search for the topic of let's say "weather", on Twitter I search that word. Or even a phrase. On Mastodon, you can't really do that. You have to make a post that has "#weather" in it and then you can click that hashtag to see if anyone else made a post with that hashtag.
