This weekend is my first test of the waters with ads and leaflets for The Closed Tunnel at YALC (Young Adult Literature Convention) in London🫣 You may see one page from it below 🤗
Of course, the book isn't finished yet, so it's just an invitation to my newsletter, where I plan to send out gifts from time to time.
It’s my first contact with the big world, and I'm super nervous🙈 Just send me some good vibes, please 🫶🏻
This article discusses how a group of excessively wealthy individuals(we know who they are), driven by a passion for young adult science fiction literature, is influencing global politics. It's genuinely worth exploring.
The Science of Sci-Fi Cinema
Essays on the Art and Principles of Ten Films
This volume of essays examines 10 films, with a focus on discerning the possible, the unlikely, and the purely science fictional. With essays by scientists in relevant fields, chapters provide analyses of the movies themselves, along with examination of the actual science (or lack thereof) in each film.
@villainousfriend I wish I had better news, when I first wrote my novel mesh, I made sure that the protagonist was wheelchair bound and getting his legs fixed with a cybernetic robotic leg system was part of the plot. I got such a bad feedback on that, so many accusations of being insensitive, that I took it out.
Today marks the end of Scavengers Reign on Max.
(no, we don't know if there will be another season, but I have no confidence in Warner. And maybe it's just not necessary.)
Nature's Warnings: Classic Stories of Eco-Science Fiction
This volume explores a range of prescient and thoughtful stories from SF’s classic period, from accounts of exhausted resources and ecocatastrophe to pertinent warnings of ecosystems thrown off balance and puzzles of adaptation and responsibility as humanity ventures into the new environments of the future.
@appassionato@bookstodon 'The Man Who Awoke' remains one of my all-time favourite books. To think, Manning foresaw all these revolutions so long in the past.
And funny that it could fit just as easily in your previous toot, Menace of the Machine.
I made a pledge on Kickstarter for "Solarpunk Magazine" 2024 with only a few hours to go - I've loved reading the magazine this year and am really happy to support them!
Got waylaid by all the great perks but
ended up going with the #Lunarpunk collection because I loved the short story "Midnight Serenade" by @jendiagammon (@jendiagammon) and I wanted to read their novel "The Inn at the Amethyst Lantern" - very excited!
The day before I decided to take a break and trim my trees, so I did! 💪🏻😄 A meditative exercise, I tell you. While pruning, I thought about the plot development of my #scifi book The Closed Tunnel.
Can I brag? Not only am I writing a book, but I have pomegranates in the garden 😂
Key takeaway: writing a #book is not always typing on a keyboard. 80% of the time, the story is born in your head.
NEAR-FUTURE NOIR THRILLER, set in a Pacific Northwest sodden with “broken weather,” combines lots of action and a colorful cast of characters for a highly entertaining read. B PLUS
