Check out this recent review of my novel, Below the Heavens - JiangXi.
I have the entirety of the novel published on Royal Road for free. I'm actively publishing the second novel of the series as well! You can find the link to both in my bio.
Five stars: Elf Dog and Owl Head by M.T. Anderson and Junyi Wu (Illustrator) (2023) begins with a royal hunt in the Kingdom Under the Mountain from the perspective of a young elfhound. When the prey ends up outside the mountain and the hunt follows, the elfhound is separated and befuddled by a modern human mountain town.
Today's new queer spec fic release: Emily Brandish's Monsters & Mind Games:
The monsters are winning. Tentacled, brain-eating gyle have unleashed a full-scale invasion, and humanity is helpless against their mind-control powers. When novice elf mage, Ambrose, is commissioned...
I reviewed “Lord of a Shattered Land” by Howard Andrew Jones for Grimdark Magazine. An ultra-competent general from a destroyed nation will stop at nothing to free every single one of his enslaved countrymen from a cruel empire. Great new Sword & Sorcery!
I'm reading Fool's Fate by Robin Hobb, the 3rd book in the 3rd trilogy in this world, & I'm fascinated by how the intricacy of the world deepens, layer upon layer of history are revealed, connecting everything. Gradually the reader sees the enormity of what might be lost if one of the characters takes the wrong step. For me, with all that's falling apart in the world in which I live, this is a mirror to us. It’s a tale of humanity, & how we treat one another. A warning. 2/2 @bookstodon#fantasy
On a harsh frontier where good and evil contend for people's minds, a young woman must fight for her true identity in this scintillating YA fantasy from the author of the award-winning Age of the Seventh Sun trilogy.
@bookstodon I need #BookRecommendations please! I’m looking for low #fantasy recommendations. Romance can be there but I want plenty of adventure & banter to go along with it. Nothing epic- magic should take a back seat and it’d be amazing if the main character did not have magic at all. Best if MC is not royal/deity/etc.
The closest thing I’ve read to this is Intisar Khanani’s The Dauntless Path series (which is amazing and I highly recommend). Anything else like it?
16 free fantasy stories referencing fairy tales/ classical stories!
My #DHD fairy tale, Distracted Magic, is among them, referencing both Hans Christian Andersen and Aesop's fables, with an overall Alice in Wonderland feel!

Katherine Arden of Winternight Trilogy fame has written a WWI novel called THE WARM HANDS OF GHOSTS. After a week of books that just were not it, I’m settling into this #ARC with great pleasure. #bookstodon#fantasy#sff@bookstodon
If you're a #Kindle reader in the US, Amy Bearce's World of Aluvia series is $0.99 right now! World of Aluvia is an upper MG/lower YA series for kids who may have aged out of most middle grade books but still aren't quite ready for traditional young adult books. This fun fantasy series in a magical world is perfect for both young readers and the young at heart!
The terrifying premise at the heart of The Painted Man by Peter V. Brett is compelling. For three centuries humanity has lived in fear of the setting of the sun, which portends the rising of demons from the earth to slaughter them during the hours of darkness. The only protection against the hordes are magical defensive wards that keep them at bay until the sun rises once more. @bookstodon
