#WhatchaReading ? I finished the most waste of time old Harlequin, The Wild Side by Diana Hamilton. One of those awful misogynistic old skool books that's pretty fun if you're in the right mood -- but then there's the most lukewarm ending! Why did I suffer through all that angst?! Where is my payoff?!
Sounds good! I've read a lot of MM Farmer's books. Currently, I'm slowly working my way through her After the War series in between reading other books.
Some of the #mmromance holiday books I've been reading lately are:
An Heiress for Christmas by @samanthasorelle
Daddy Christmas by Cara Dee
The Christmas Summons by Kelly Fox
Stocking Stuffer by Loralei Hart
Masters in This Hall by KJ Charles
Currently, I'm reading Can We Keep Him for Christmas by Leigh Lennon
"One of the weirdest and most convoluted Christmas stories that I have ever read, filled with surprises, suspense, thrills, fast paced action, danger, gore and grit... a crazy page turner, a roller coaster of a holiday ride."
The wait is finally over. My gay romance/gaylit short story collection Love & Limitations has arrived, just in time for the holidays (with three holiday stories too):
Today's release: Kim Fielding's MM holiday fantasy romance Regifted:
It’s December, and although Chrys Carvalho loves his home among the trees in the California Sierras, he’s a little lonely. While trying to find a new owner for a motorcycle—gifted by Chrys to his late husband—he meets ...
Today's review! Jake Monroe & the Case of the Missing Mermaid by Arthur Griffin:
"Well written. The trials and tribulations of being a PI, especially one with a paranormal caseload, are vividly portrayed. Recommended for romance readers who like their mysteries spiced with a little paranormal."
"Damaged Saints has to prove that what happened last year did not stop them but made them more determined than ever. Sex, amazing characters, and rock and roll - how can you go wrong? 5 stars.
The holidays are stressful. Treat yourself to a book with a happy ending. Sam and Ulysses meet in September, fight evil together all autumn, and face off against a god in late December, so this is the perfect time of year to read it. Plus, you'll be ready for the sequel in January.
Do you like sweet cinnamon-roll heroes? Then you'll love Bryn from THE RETURN OF THE EARL! He was the first cinnamon-roll hero I’d ever written - he’s strong and sweet and patient and he likes to knit! His kindness, his even temper, and his strong connection to the land provide the perfect foil to Con’s emotional turmoil as the memories engulf them both.
If you're looking for something more unusual in #mmromance, be sure to check out Wild Wood by Nick Christie.
It's a fresh take on a new love with shades of the British gay leather scene, motorcycles, and kink incorporated into the relationship. Two young men meet each other which working at a gay naturist camp for the summer. Despite some initial misunderstandings, they become great friends. Highly attracted to each other, they eventually give in to their desires. As time goes by, passion becomes love.
This is more of a romance than other books by this author. It's very much an #ownvoices novel, as the author is active himself in the scene. There's lots of #kink, some challenges to overcome, lots of passion, and a beautiful, hard-won love.
Linda reviews "Loose Strings" by Christie Gordon, Road to Rocktoberfest 2023:
"Two men from totally different backgrounds and careers come together with a chance of a HEA, but only if one of them can overcome his fear and open his heart to love. 5 Stars."
Linda reviews "Seltzer's Taylor" by TL Travis, Road to Rocktoberfest 2023:
"Rockers, sex, and love. All TL Travis’ rocker books are wonderful, and this is no exception. If you’ a’re not familiar with them, grab this one now. There’s no better time. 5 stars."
"Hill had me at “snow, a farmer and a mangy dog.” ... a heart warming, well-written story with filled with romance, love and true awakenings between two men – with both sad and feel-good moments and just the right banter and humor."
Today's indie author review!
Music & Dreams by JP Sayle:
"Another journey to Rocktoberfest, and my favorite by far. There were some great surprises in store for Rogan which will change his future in a way he could never have imagined. 5 Stars."
"Follow up to Midnight Reunion - and although I didn’t read it, I have no doubt it would be every bit as entertaining as this... Hot rockers, steamy sex, and lyrics to the Midnight Hunt music... what more could you want? 5 stars."
