Filled with heart and the intoxicating allure of possibility, Starstruck is a must-read for anyone who has ever dreamed of finding love in surprising places.
With Boban, young readers will rediscover the wonders of the world, taking them on a fun, colorful and visual journey. It is a simple story, but it shares a warm message of encouragement about opening our eyes, looking at the world around us and appreciating everything, even the tiniest ones.
How exciting ! The Mailman dropped the November surprise mail from #TheBookDrop and I love the new look of the envelope ! What book do you think is hidden inside ? A small clue : it is a middle grade graphic novel recently published !
The Lost Library is a little middle grade book treasure. It is a pure declaration of love to librarians and little free library stewards and how they unite the Community and help make it better. I deeply enjoy this sweet mystery adventure with a paranormal twist. It is simply lovely ! If you love books, cats, cheese, tea and are always on the hunt for a little free library, this book will be a hit !
THE PERIPHERAL (William Gibson, 2014; Spanish edition 2017).
First novel of the trilogy (not yet finished) the Jackpot. In 2020 the second novel, "Agency" was published (I am reading it now). I haven't seen the Amazon Prime version and I'm not sure I'm going to see it. The reason is that I don't think it can live up to the novel. Perhaps one of the best novels translating today's complex reality (past, present, fact, fiction, economics, politics...).
I #read When She’s Shy by Ruby Dixon (Sept 2023). This short #book from the Risdaverse is a 52 pg F/F delight. Please don’t let that scare you off if you are a straight cis person. This is the first time I know of that Dixon has openly written lgbt main characters, one of which clearly has an anxiety disorder. Read it! 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 #romance#books#romancebooks#romancelandia#reading@romancebooks@romancelandia https://amzn.to/47pNekZ

Linda reviews "Loose Strings" by Christie Gordon, Road to Rocktoberfest 2023:
"Two men from totally different backgrounds and careers come together with a chance of a HEA, but only if one of them can overcome his fear and open his heart to love. 5 Stars."

If you are looking for a well written Urban Fantasy novel with strong characters fighting an army of supernatural beings, Witch Fire may be the book you need !
Noodle Conquers Comfy Mountain is an adorable picture book, perfect for young readers and dog lovers. The illustrations are really cute, and the text is simple and entertaining. I love how the author shows how we sometimes need help and should not hesitate to ask for it. It is a great read to comfort children who are frustrated because they cannot accomplish something by themselves (especially toddlers !).
The kids of the Cardboard Kingdom go on a new adventure! This time, they are in search of new friends—but what they discover is a lot more like enemies ...

Poppy cannot wait to go to the art museum with her fourth-grade class. As she arrives, she is amazed by all the masterpieces, there are so many ! As she comes closer to admire one of them, she falls inside and finds an earring ! Poppy now has a mission : find the owner of the missing jewelry!
I have read Nnedi Okorafor's novella, Binti, and I found it wonderful (as well as very entertaining). Also, with a witty reflection on the decolonization of museums.
In this heartwarming story from New York Times bestselling author Courtney Cole, an unhappily married couple makes a wish on an enchanted snow globe that they had never met, but when they wake up the next day in separate lives, the magic of Christmas helps them to realize that some love is just meant to be.
Book news! A new edition of the Victorian shilling shocker 'The Master of Hullingham Manor' will be published on 29 November. It includes a long introduction by me.
“Le inchieste dell’ispettore Chen” di Qiu Che Xiaolong 🇨🇳
Una raccolta di gialli 🕵️ davvero interessanti. Quello che mi sta colpendo è come il la storia investigativa sia quasi di sfondo a quella che è la Cina negli anni ‘90. Una Cina ancora ferita e vittima dell’indottrinamento comunista.
È una lettura 📚che aiuta a capire uno stile di vita, una cultura, dei modi di fare che sono lontani dai nostri.
