@bogiperson@bookstodon Not too long ago, I found two listings for a book I wanted to buy—the legit one and a counterfeit one (same author, different publisher, different page count). I mentioned it to the author here on Masto, we went back and forth about it for a bit while they figured out what was up. It looks like the counterfeit is gone now.
According to the latest review for A Bit of Murder Between Friends, pink-haired crusty punk lesbian grannies are an overused cliché now. And the existence of trans people is 'too preachy'.
Shrug.
Anyways, if you might want to read a book about a clichéd character and her too-preachy friend, check out A Bit of Murder Between Friends by Elliott Hay (aka me).
If you're following me, it's very likely you've already got my wee romantic-slash-comedic-slash-erotic "Rear Admiral" but did I mention there are over TWO HUNDRED more stories?
@NathanBurgoine This is great! I love the option to search by genre, and the descriptions of each book. It's a great way to support an author who doesn't have a marketing budget.
Anyone else think better when their hands are busy? 🙋🏻
I read audiobooks while I'm sewing, solving visual puzzles, taking pictures, crafting, and just about anything else that doesn't involve words.
Today that's looking like playing with a new printing process while filling my brain with history and theory of nonbinary identities (in preparation for my ACES VCon talk next month).
@tanyagold@EllenInEdmonton@Rana@edibuddies@bookstodon@lgbtqbookstodon@diversebooks We can absorb content faster than people can comfortably (and clearly?) speak so it makes sense to me to do something else. Sometimes I get irritated with even comedies on TV and find that if I do something else at the same time I enjoy them more. Lectures? Docos? GIMME SOMETHING to help me focus!
#currentlyreading The House in the Cerulean Sea. I’ve heard good things about it. I’m on chapter 10, and I like it for the most part. I think the magical characters are interesting, but the caseworker rubs my skin the wrong way. Gonna try to be patient with him.
@infinitesoleil@bookstodon It is a good book, and I've come to appreciate the way TJ Klune allows characters to meander into being more whole. I had a similar experience with "under the whispering door"
This is my version of an ugly Christmas sweater, only as a cat lover I think it's actually cute. The sweater even made it into my sapphic holiday romance novella "A Purrfect Gift"!
