It seems there is an issue with the Mastodon API on this instance (I don't know how it works though).
But for example a simple public API call on calckey.word gives:

https://calckey.world/api/v1/instance

While on the other instance it says not allowed:

https://procial.tchncs.de/api/v1/instance

@apps mmh still sadly couldnt find a clue as to why this happens.. searched quite a while again now... @kainoa, perhaps if we frame that issue differently based on this finding (also added to the gitlab discussion), it might become valid?

Since a week or so I have the problem that I get a "too many requests" error message after some time of using on a day - and I don't think I'm a heavy user. I experienced it just now. Is that intended from either the server or the app? When switching to the web interface everything is fine. Is there anything I can do to avoid this?

@EinPhysiker sadly @fedilab sometimes does the following, which potentially results in these errors (thats the log for your most recent ip):

@apps is it possible to subscribe to the timelin of a account (like @startrek with a lot of postings per day) using without having those postings flooding my personal timeline?

I'm worried to flood my personal timeline and on the other hand it is possible to put an instances timeline on a list without directly following it.

I think you could follow it, but also mute it.

To be honest, though, I find the overall experience is better with separate accounts for Mastodon and Lemmy.

Mastodon 4.1.4 allows hiding list contents from home. The feed is disordered, and is sometimes lacking context, but I find it minimally workable.

** GlitchSoc new features on tech.lgbt ** Oooo ... nice to see that we have a couple of useful new features: any weird looking posts in the next week may be me playing around with:

Also I see GlitchSoc has:

  • Local-server only posts

Comment: I do still love [ for it's migration of posting history and 'Antennae', but for now at least have realised I'll wait until mobile :android: App supports it fully - which is supposed to be coming. Fedilab is so feature-rich ...]
