YSK: On Lemmy the title, URL, and content of a post are all editable after posting.
Why YSK: On reddit only the body was editable, so by knowing this you won’t need to delete or resubmit due to wrong URL, typo, etc.

Why YSK: If you’re familiar with the topic of awesome lists on GitHub, then you should know that there is a community driven list just for Lemmy, including a convenient aggregation of links to instances, alternative front-ends, mobile apps, libraries, tools, guides, etc.
I’ve been running notado.app primarily for myself for the last 3 years. Like a lot of you, I am moving over to Lemmy from Reddit, and like a lot of you, I learned so much from the comments I read over years and years on Reddit. I must have hundreds of saved comments from Reddit in my Notado account at this point....
For all scientists in the lemmyverse, I want you to know there is a lemmy instance dedicated to nature and science: mander.xyz.
Why YSK: This bot is constantly reposting reddit content to its own lemmy instance, lemmit.online. Most of it goes completely unnoticed and produces no discussion. If you like using All to find new communities, and sort by New, all you’ll see is this bot. Its highest upvoted post has 40 upvotes and 0 comments, and it has over...
Repost because original post got deleted due to missing YSK in the title. You should know why so so much software you use is so awful, and this article (partly) explains it.
An article about how programmers tend to focus too much on aspects of software that are unimportant in the real world, leaving basic functionality deficient. Forests are, after all, made of trees, and it's not their fault we don't care about individual...
Why YSK: it doesn't matter how original you might think you are, they have heard them before. Numerous times in fact. If you're in the habit of making name-based jokes as soon as you meet someone you should stop. At best you're mildly annoying the person, at worst you're preventing what could have been a great friendship before...
Every car is different and may require specific air pressure for your tires....
Why you should know: StackOverflow is facing a mod strike in a similar way as Reddit's mod strike. They are doing this in response to StackOverflow's failure to address it's promises and provide moderation tools
The Online News Act passed last Thursday and would force platforms like Google and Meta, Facebook and Instagram’s parent company, to strike deals with Canadian media publishers for sharing, previewing and directing users to online Canadian news content.
YSK because text-based communication demands clarity, and this mistake can be confusing for both native English speakers and English learners alike....

If you use a script to mass edit your Reddit content, make sure you make it wait a few seconds between each edit. If you do the mass editing by hand, make sure you're not too fast....

I just found out today that if something you bought from Harbor Freight broke them most likely you can buy a replacement part for it. They have a list you can download and look through and find the part you need and can call and order it. Here is the list:...
First specifically reported a little over a week ago, more and more reports have been showing up concerning the issue....
It has a really nice UI....
Why YSK:...
