sugar_in_your_tea, Exactly. I’m no fan of Google, but I think patents in general should only last as long as needed to recoup the initial investment.
The same should go for copyright as well.

Djtecha, Probably filled suite in 2017 and got delayed by Google for years. Idk watching Google rip everything off has made me more of a supporter for patents.
jellyfish, Of course this is a ruling out of Western Texas. Thankfully Google can appeal to a more sane court and hopefully get this obvious patent troll’s verdict thrown out.
LoafyLemon, I wouldn't be so sure. Google has lost another case with Sonos, also because of patent infringement. This isn't the first nor the last time.

really dumb patent, Pretty sure DLNA/UPNP media rendering with remote controller and server devices were well established when this “touchstream” mob claim to have patented casting from one device to another.
sugar_in_your_tea, Yeah, I’ve been using DLNA for years, and it has been around for much longer. Looks like it has been around for 20-ish years now.
