I can see Lower Decks maybe taking that award, unfortunately I don’t see SNW winning alone, and I strongly suspect Elizabeth Debicki will take the Best Actress Award.
That one was incredible. I still feel drawn to question, despite the episode’s resolution, whether being in the fields is preferable. Wonderful take on the ignorance is bliss theme
Such a well done mashup, really clever and incredible talent on display. I’m a huge Broadway fan and a massive trekkie so this was just a love letter to me and I’m beyond grateful. SNW is always a welcome surprise, every week.
@deafmutex@porthos@startrek Yes, the right to the first 10 movies at that point belonged to Viacom, who made them under license from CBS. But that's neither here or there to what Discovery was doing.
Reminds me of the original series, cancelled right before they started tracking demographics, only to realize it was hitting all the right buttons and they’d killed the golden goose.
Given Trek fandom are often the first colonizers of online spaces in internet history (eg newsgroups) losing major Star Trek communities is big L for Reddit.
EDIT: Not permamently locked subreddits, got that wrong I think!
Sounds like mods there are toxic. Not best for vast majority of people who want to know which Trek is good and which Trek is not so good.
edit: Didn’t even know this was posted to startrek.website. I am not subscribed there so I don’t know why I even saw it. Also, what is the reason for pointing out this forum exists inside this forum?
I just wish the newly announced animated vignettes with 90s legacy characters were actually going to be done in the Filmation style. I wasn’t at all impressed with the main character designs that were released at SDCC.
Damn I really do like the lemmy community more. On other social media aggregators, people are flipping the fuck out.
The more reasonable discourse about this article, on Lemmy is just healthier for everyone’s mental state.
That being said, I tend to agree this is a nothing burger and Leer Decks is likely fine for a few more years. It’s a low budget show and the writing is on point making a broad range of fans happy. I’ve heard this show has actually brought in a lot of new Trek fans too.
