First few episodes is literally just about how humanity has gone to shit, broken all promises made to Iskandar, and literally no-one remembers the Yamato. This supposedly has happened within a mere three years since the events of 2199, WHICH SAVED THE ENTIRE FUCKING SPECIES. The anniversary of the Yamato’s return happens, and literally just the crew shows up to the monument. Seems legit.
