This. This is what I have to put up with before dinner. He is convinced I am performing experiments in feline starvation. Were he not about 50% overweight, some might even believe his tales of woe.
we had a cat while i was in high school, one of the most consistently overweight of the cats we've had. my dad usually left for work earlier, so he'd feed Pip. but Pip would wail so loudly and pitifully that not infrequently, he'd convince my mom he hadn't been fed and would get 2nd breakfast.
once, my mom was defrosting a roast beef, normally locked in the microwave so Pip couldn't get to it. but she was distracted, microwaved something and left the roast out. Pip managed to eat almost half a full roast beef before mom caught him. come dinner time, a couple of hours later, he was sitting by his dish and howling because there was no cat food in it.
