The amount of porn or captions on social media that depict women as observient, "kept," and submissive is absolutely alarming. It's no wonder these dudes think like that. It is all over the place.. Be damned societal roles and the inferiority of women.

Here, coincidentally, is a book I’m reading that discusses sex workers’ agency in occupied Japan. (Cover of Occupying Power by Dr. Sarah Kovner) She suggests these folks chose this work, so it wasn’t as bad as all that. VD was rampant, 20 customers a shift was common, and payment went to a manager. The workers did this to feed and house their families. Is that choice?
