Anti-Muslim and anti-Jewish hate serve as substitutes for one another in US far right groups.

In these groups, hate remains high, but the target shifts in both hateful rhetoric and hate crimes.

A great panel on "Autocracy and Authoritarianism" and Day 4 at #ecprgc23 is in the books. Glad that I could contribute by presenting some of my work on a three-dimensional conceptualization of Autocratization and its analytical application as well.

I really enjoyed the whole week by now. And definetly, I'm heading home with some very helpful suggestions and a lot of food for thought in my backpack 😊

New call for 3-year postdoc positions at YUFE universities - including Maastricht University. Projects should address European identity or citizen well-being in an urban context. Please note that YUFE postdocs have a mobility requirement.

Get in touch if you'd like to explore the possibility of applying for a YUFE postdoc with me, and share the call with recent PhDs who might be interested.

Real-world developments such as migration rates, crime, and terrorism predict immigration news in right-wing media. Moreover, these developments also shape the content within immigration news.

In a study recently published in Mass Communication and Society, I analyze more than two decades of news coverage within Germany's largest right-wing newspaper to show this.

Publishing academic research in Open Access makes such a difference in who is able to engage with and benefit from it. Our Palgrave Handbook of Digital Russia Studies just hit 250k accesses - needless to say we would never have sold that many (expensive) copies...
