Hi! I’m trying to find a Google alternative, tried duck duck go but found it very lacking, both in results and interface (not showing the date on the links, for example, that’s useful). I have been supporting Lemmy recently a lot and made posts about Lemmy that got big reach. Today, sadly the reddit account through which, I moderated a lot of subs and spent time on, comes to an end. The reason was because I spammed according to reddit, but the reality is that they have censored me because I was hurting Reddit....

I want to use pi-hole and it comes highly recommended to use raspberry pi to cover the house and have an always on capability. I started looking at just starter packages at Amazon and they don’t come with a monitor, which it looks like you need. How do I do this? I want a raspberry pi to run pi-hole to protect my house....
Does anyone know any open source FPS still maintained? I know some like Unvanquished and Xonotic and they are ok but I would like to know some others, if they exist....

Hi, recently I thought about lemmy and came into the conclusion, that it lacks one thing to be a true competition for reddit and stackoverflow and that is the search engine and user visibility....
Currently, I’m a Vivaldi user. My issue with Vivaldi is simple: it isn’t fully open source....
How can users confidently verify that a FOSS application is running from its published source code? Is there a easy way to check this, or is this based of checksum and hashes?

People who use GPLv3 want the code to stay open/libre under any circumstances. If this is the goal, why not use the AGPL instead, even for applications which are not served over a network?...
