As hard working as this robbery group is they could have found actual jobs. That is an impressive string of robberies. I hope the police go out of their way to find these fools.

Pons_Aelius,

Yep. Threatening people with a gun is a very transferable skill and opens up a wealth of employment opportunities...

Thoth19,

In bodyguarding, army, protection, etc

Cops. Most body guards don’t carry. Fire arms are a double edged sword- anyone hitting an individual with private security is going to do surveillance first and account for weapons anyhow.

and most places bar fire arms which would bar them from entering with their clients if they go shopping or to a concert or football game.

PM_ME_STEAM_KEYS,

Unless they’re surveilling with the intent of knocking out the bodyguards so they can give the target a stern talking to free of prying eyes, I’d imagine their only thoughts on the matter will be either “they don’t have guns, we should bring guns” or “they have guns, we should bring guns.” And for the firearms being barred portion, that’s going to vary a lot by locale and venue, but there’s always the option of locking firearms up in vehicles.

I think the most compelling reason not to have firearms is that if someone isn’t armed you don’t want them to suddenly become armed thanks to you. I’m just not so sure about the rest.

It’s far, far more likely that private property will ban guns- unless it’s some form of ultra exclusive club that deals with security all the time. They’re also banned from any school as a matter of federal law.

Those places have to worry about their own safety and liability. While difficult to enforce- especially if some one is planning on ignoring it- the policy provides some of the few measures of prevention. The last thing anybody wants is to be in the middle of a “white man shot black kid over a ham” unless the protective agents are cops (secret service, gobenatorial details, etc)

As for preparedness, it’s more like “oh they have 9mm pistols, we’ll be wearing body armor.” Or “oh they have ars we’ll wear more protective body armor”

Protecting somebody is about stopping them before they ever get to be a problems. The body guards themselves aren’t there to stop the bad guy, they’re there for when everything else fails- to get the client the fuck out of there.
