In Lemmy, nop. However, as it's the Fediverse, you can follow users via Mastodon, any user. (I'm following myself)
The posts however don't seem to pop-up on mastodon, but you can select the user profile and read all their posts. That is however not limited to the subscribed channels, as you follow a user, not a community or magazine.
I think it would be a huge strain on the network is that's synced as well. (Especially with the huge growth after the (small) Reddit exodus.
